As a Miami wedding photographer, I recently had the pleasure of photographing Cara and Brad’s picture perfect wedding at the Palms in Miami Beach. This was a destination wedding for both Cara and Brad who live in Pennsylvania, as well as for most of their guests. Cara did an amazing job planning her destination wedding in Miami Beach – she was really on top of things! She selected the Palms Hotel because she found it to be the perfect size for an intimate, yet elegant wedding. She also wanted an outdoor ceremony, but not on a beach – so the gorgeous gazebo at the Palms was just the right spot!

Being based in South Florida, I see many different types of destination weddings. Cara and Brad’s wedding was small and every detail was done to perfection. Cara’s dreamy gown was by Amsale and the floral arrangements were created by Petunia Flowers. As she said, Cara’s wedding “theme” was that everything was personalized. There were initials on the cake, monograms on the programs, personalized cocktail napkins and little boxes for the escort card that held their favorite candy inside. The dominant color of this wedding was pink, and Petunia masterfully wove this color throughout their arrangements and bouquets.

The bride and groom were gorgeous, as was the entire wedding. I would like to thank Cara and Brad for being so much fun to photograph on their wedding day! You’ll see from the photos posted here just how amazing a Miami Beach wedding can be.
As for the Palms Hotel – it is really one of the loveliest venues in Miami Beach. The hotel’s main theme is that it is “inspired by nature”, offering a new Aveda concept spa and a signature “natural gourmet” restaurant called Essensia. Having a destination wedding at the Palms Hotel & Spa is sure to rejuvenate and relax all who attend. From the pristine Miami Beach waters to the tranquility of the Palms itself, the bride and groom and guests alike can soak in the sun and lounge away the day to their heart’s content!

When you need a break from the peaceful nature of the Palms, there are always South Beach hotspots to hit and nightlife that will more than make up for all the relaxing during the day! Dance and party the night away or eat at a chic Miami restaurant with all the other beautiful people. You know you will be returning to the magnificent Palms Hotel for an escape unlike no other. As a Florida wedding photographer, I can safely say that the Palms is truly a wonderful place to work.

Fort Lauderdale Destination Weddings

  • Ashley and Tom’s Fort Lauderdale Engagement Shoot

The moment I mentioned Fort Lauderdale's River Walk area to Ashley as a location possibility for her engagement shoot, the place instantly appealed to her. She wanted a spot with water in the background, but not necessarily the beach. She wanted some structures around, but not tall office buildings. River Walk turned out to be the perfect spot. As a South Florida photographer I have done engagement shoots in many different locations – most notably beach areas, Vizcaya, the Morikami – places like that. Every once in a while, a client really wants to do their engagement shoot somewhere a little different – like the River Walk. What is so wonderful about this location is not only the waterway that runs behind it, but the quaint feeling the buildings all around provide. Right in the center of Fort Lauderdale, the River Walk is a park like setting with trees, benches and a pretty gazebo. There's also a large pavilion in the Esplanade which is often used for wedding ceremonies. The varied elements here allow for some terrific shots as you will see here. Ashley and Tom were thrilled with the location and enthusiastic about trying all kinds of fun shots as we walked through the area.We had a great time with this engagement shoot and I am thoroughly looking forward to photographing Ashley and Tom's upcoming South Florida wedding this April at Mizner Country Club. - 3 weeks ago
