Historic Hialeah Racetrack

This famous horse racing track was built in 1925 in an architectural style known as Mediterranean and salted with pink flamingos from Cuba and South America. The dscendents of these first birds live at Hialeah today and comrpise a national treasure that tourists and residents love.

In the 21st century, archectural groups have raised money to prevent Hialeah Park from being turned into a housing development filled with condominiums and retail spaces. The park is actually an Official US Sanctuary for the American Flamingo, according to the National Audubon Society.

In fact, the lake in the park includes many islands that are home to several flocks of up to 300 pink flamingos each. These gorgeous birds are descendants of the flamingos imported from Cuba and parts south back in 1925 and previously.

Hialeah itself is a Seminole Native American word that means "High Prairie." Hubs about the Seminole and nearby nations are located here:

With respect to your first part of this hub: "Fastest Growing Jobs in Miami". Do you think there is any way to know from which University they are hiring by percentage?

Hi RACM - Many colleges and universities maintain records of how many graduates are hired by the major employers in the area and how many grads are hired in each Industry, with additional statistics as well. You could check websites and call the schools and find out. In addition, some employers keep statistics on which collges/universities their new hires are from. You might check their websites and call their HR departments.

Let us know what you find out. If you come up empty, put in a Hub Pages request and Ill look into it.

Regards,

Patty

Thanks. Today is a holiday, but I will go ahead and check with my school within the week. Which department within the university should I look into, and how do I request a hub page?

Call the main information number of the school and ask which department it might be for that particular school. If they do not know, call the Human Resources Depatment or the Aumni Assciation.

To make a Hub Request, click on REQUESTS at the top of the page and follow the directions there. You can make a request and look up other requests. It's pretty neat.
