Michael Jackson, The King Of Pop, passed away on 25th June 2009. A memorial was held at the Staples Centre in Los Angeles on July 7, 2009 at 10AM. The memorial service started with Mariah Carey's rendition of the song "I'll Be There", which she performed along with Trey Lorenz. Several big name celebrities like Lionel Richie, John Mayer, Usher, Stevie WOnder and Jennifer Hudson performed to pay tribute to the King Of Pop. Other big name celebrities like Brooke Shields, Queen Latifah, Smokey Robinson spoke about Michael, his life, his work and his relationship with people around him.

Towards the end of the ceremony, the family went up the stage to sing "We Are The World" and "Heal The World". Michael Jackson's family went to the stage to thank all of the fans and loved ones for paying respects to Michael. Jermaine Jackson thanked everyone for their support, and Marlon Jackson spoke of his great relationship with Michael. Her daughter, Paris Jackson gave an emotional speech briefly on Michael as a loving father. Jermaine Jackson also performed a song that was one of Michael's all-time favourite songs. It was indeed a great celebration of the life of a pop icon.

Michael Jackson will be laid to rest at a private funeral ceremony at Forest Lawn Cemetery in Hollywood Hills. May you rest in peace, Michael! Long live the King Of Pop!
