The Best Father You Can Ever Imagine

In her first public forum, Paris Katherine Jackson spoke, concluding the Michael Jackson Memorial at the Staples Center by bestowing him with the highest honor a man can achieve: The Best Father You Can Ever Imagine.

Micheal Jackson was called many things: Muscian, Humanitarian, King of Pop. But the title I believe he was probably most proud of was "Daddy."

"I just want to say, ever since I was born, Daddy has been the best father you could ever imagine. I just want to say I love him so much!" proclaimed the eleven year old Paris Katherine, daughter of Michael Jackson's children.

Paris seemed very aware of everything happening at the ceremony, even leaping to her feet when Rev. Al Sharpton stated that her daddy wasn't strange; what was strange was what her father had to deal with. While it's unclear what Paris Katherine, Prince Michael, or Blanket actually know about their father's tribulations, what is clear is that Michael Jackson cared for them, sheltered them, and taught them to love. It's evident in the fragile way the young girl clung to her aunt after making the declaration.

Paris Katherine's words hit home with me, and brought tears to my eyes because she used the most reverent of words when she referred to Michael Jackson. She called him, "Daddy." I'm a 35 year old woman, and I still call my father Daddy. I do it because there is no other word for him; father just does not cut it. A father may have conceived a child, but for me, a Daddy loves, protects, teaches, nurtures, and cherishes. To me, my Daddy means safety and security. He's a compass and a rock. Daddies are so precious to their little girls, and they'll always be little girls in their daddies' eyes.

Paris calling Michael Jackson "Daddy" is even more important, when you recall Michael Jackson's words during the "Living With Michael Jackson" documentary. Michael told Martin Bashir that his own father would not let the boys call him Daddy.

"And I wanted to call him Daddy so bad. But he said, 'I'm not Daddy. I'm Joesph to you,' you know?" Michael continued, "And I totally forgive him for all of it, you know. You have to...but I don't allow my children to call me Michael. I say, 'I'm Daddy.' It's the total opposite."

I feel so deeply for Paris Katherine to lose her Daddy, because I've had to sit by my Daddy's bedside when he's been ill. I've had to face the thought of a world without my Daddy, a world that Paris has been thrust into before puberty. Even at my age, I cannot imagine the depths to which my world will crumble once my Daddy is no longer on this earth. I try to think about it from time to time, so that I can remember that he is mortal. However, how can the superhero of your life ever be mortal? It's intensely personal, and that's why daddies are so important and so needed in the world.

Whenever I say these things to my Daddy, he thinks I'm putting on so I can get something out of him. At least he jokes that way, because he's so shy about praise. All yor ladies out there, hold onto your daddies while you can. I'm sure that to you, he is "the best father that you can ever imagine."

It is speculation that Michael Jackson fathered none of those kids. Honestly, with one look at the children, that should have been obvious. However, as i stated before, it's not the fathering of a child that matters. It's being a Dad or a Daddy to that child that makes all the difference. Ask any adopted child who grew up with a man that they believe fits my definition of a Daddy.

People who grew up with Daddies are extremely lucky. I hope that Paris Katherine will always remember Michael Jackson as her Daddy. I hope that the rumors and stigmas that she will learn about never tarnish what she shared with her Daddy.

I lost my daddy a few years ago but by then I was well into adulthood. How would I have feared had he passed when I was 11yrs old..... That I do not even want to think about.

When Paris spoke my heart tore. May God be those kids and may their dad Rest In Peace.

MJ, while only being a biological father to 3, was a hero to millions more, including me! In my eyes, he was the greatest man to ever ealk this Earth, second only to Jesus! Its just unbelievable how people would take a man so loving, and so Christ-like, and make him look like a freak! He was, as Paris said "The best daddy you could ever imagine!" I mean, who knows him better than his own family and his own children? If you havent seen his home movies yet, look them up on youtube, especially the one he made the his sons b-day.......watching that video made me very envious, as I would do anything for a dad like MJ!
