Michael Jackson Costumes

Not many can think of better ways to honor this legend than to be him this Halloween. He was known by many names and still lives in on the hearts of his millions of followers- the ‘king of pop’ has always been high on rankings when it comes to celebrity costume choices. Michael Jackson is such a great choice when it comes to stage performances and shows. His stage presence was extraordinary and demanded respect as he commanded his audience and his musical crew. Apart from this a great way to remember the King of Pop this Halloween is to pay tribute to him through costume. The Michael Jackson Thriller costume would be a great first choice. But don’t be surprised if you are not the only one who has thought about the idea.

So when you have decided to play Michael Jackson, there is one thing you will need to bear in mind that other costumes will not demand- A face mask is a must, unless you are dedicated enough to have yourself surgically altered to match up with Wacko Jacko’s surgically altered features. These masks are made of latex and they include synthetic hair so that means you will not have to look for a wig- lesser work, reason to smile. The masks themselves are easy to come by, and should be available at any costume store. If you were thinking of making the Michael Jackson costumes at home, you will either have to make a reservation here and go purchase the mask, or drop the idea; it’s not particularly easy to make a face mask with what you have got at home. The rest of the costume should be easy to put together at home, including a wig- if you’ve decided to skip the face mask; however ditching the face mask isn’t recommended unless you are going to be watched from a distance.

So how do you decide on what Michael Jackson costumes to get? Simple- it depends on what video you want to perform to. If the occasion is Halloween or some costume party, go for the classic 80’s look to be safe- A Red leather (use faux leather to keep the cost low) jacket with a lot of zippers. For further effect, push your sleeves up unto your elbows. Among the many epithets of Jackson is ‘the gloved one’ and this wasn’t for nothing- he sported a white/sparkling glove very often so you could consider getting a single sequined glove. It isn’t something you’d have missed- his white socks always show. Get a pair of black patent leather shoes, with pants that are short enough so that the socks show. Or just roll the trousers up slightly. The Michael Jackson costumes are no good without one most distinguishing feature- the black fedora (hat). Make sure you allow strands of hair to hang loose on all sides. To top and complete the look, get a pair of Aviator sunglasses. Get a UV protection pair if you plan to use it for other purposes. If it is a one time thing, you can get something for as cheap as $5.
