Michael Jackson, when will he rest in peace?

Worldwide the news has spread that on June 25th, 2009, Michael Jackson, the King of Pop passed away. As of today, August 17th, 2009 he still has not been buried. News reports are coming in that according to Michael Jackson's Father, Joe Jackson the burial will be held on August 29th, 2009 which is the singer's birthday. He would have been 51 years old. He will be interred at Los Angeles' Forest Lawn Cemetery. According to the news and media there has been a great deal of turmoil in the Jackson family over the burial of the late singer.
According to news report and rumor the Jackson family is divided as to what to do with singer's body. Some reports say that half of the family wants to bury Jackson in an unmarked grave to keep grave robbers from desecrating his grave site. Other reports say that Jermaine Jackson is pushing to have his brother buried at Neverland Ranch, Micheal's former home in order to make a Gracelandesque type memorial to the late singer. Other family members are against that plan because after the 2003 police raid on the ranch, Michael Jackson reportedly no longer felt at home there.Â
It has been reported that Katherine Jackson had her son's body moved from the family crypt of Berry Gordy because she felt security was going to become an issue. Mrs. Jackson had her son moved to Freedom Mausoleum, in Glendale California. He was placed in the basement in a brick cold storage room where she visits him often. According to an unidentified family friend, Mrs. Jackson is having a hard time coming to terms with her son's death. It is reported that during the visits she cries and talks to Michael. The thought of his burial fills Mother Jackson with a great despair.Â
The autopsy report is still under security hold by the Los Angeles County Coroner's Office. The LAPD is still pursuing an investigation into the singer's death. They fear that releasing the autopsy results could affect the investigation adversely. Although the police have interviewed several people and have conducted many searches in and out of state, Charges have yet to be filed in the case. The investigation does seem to center around Jackson's personal physician, Dr. Conrad Murray. The doctor has admitted to administering the drug Diprovan, which is a lethal anesthetic, to Jackson in the 24 hours before his death.Â
Plans to create a permanent public memorial to the late singer are in the works, however no details have been released. Their have been a great many tributes to the singer since his death. "Better on the Other Side" is a tribute song by The Game, which includes other singers such as Chris Brown, Diddy, Mario Winans, Usher, and Boys II Men which was released June 26th, 2009. LL Cool J has recently released a song "Billie Jean Dream" which he claims the late singer visited him in a dream and wrote the song. Fans are creating web tributes such as "www.eternalmoonwalk.com" and there are videos and on an on. Stars such as Whitney Houston, Wyclef Jean, Lionel Richie, and Dionne Warwick along with Jackson's Brother Jermaine are working on a collaborative effort to record "Will You Be There" as a tribute.
Throughout the singer's life he was surrounded by the media. From every career high to every flaw or mistake Jackson's life was constantly in the news. Any attempt at a normal life was beyond his reach. His talent took him to heights in his career that were unimaginable. He is a Legend in the music industry. Michael Jackson has even surpassed Elvis Presley. He is loved world wide. But will he ever be able to rest in peace? Will the hoopla that surrounds him ever die down? The answer to those questions is "unlikely". I think now his family should let him live in peace. In fact his star value is so huge that even his family members are unsure about his burial. It would be better if Michael himself had chosen any resting place for him when he was alive.
Hi Pete - Yeah I agree.....as long as his father is intent on making money off of his name he probably will never completely rest in peace which is truly sad.
Hi Andromida - I am sure Michael didn't anticipate or consider his own demise....he was so huge in the entertainment industry he didn't take time to think ahead. I just hope that once he is buried that no one desecrates his grave site.
He will rest in peace because he had a heart of a child.
HI SwiftlyClean! His talent was a gift and his music will continue on.

Micheal Jackson will not rest in peace until his father runs out of ways of making money on him.
