Why?

All pitbulls have a bad reputation, ands it is because of their owner. I own two pitbulls of my own and they have never shown any sign of hostility towards me or any other stranger, all they do is try their hardest to please me. Sadly that's why they fight, to please their owner.

In April 2007 the property of Atlanta Falcons quarterback Michael Vick was under investigation for fighting pitbulls. Vick followed by three other accomplices were charged with federal  felony's, conspiracy charges, and imprisoned.

One of Vicks accomplisaces was Pumell A. Peace also known as "P-Funk" and "Funk". In may 2007 he reported a break in at Vicks property. Later he was a suspect. Quantis L. Phillips (Vicks second partner) purchased four pittbulls with Vick costing over a thoudand dollars. Teir plan was to later use these dogs for fighting. Last but not least was Tony Tayler also known as "T". Tony Taylor was known for being cousin to Pumell Peace. In 2002 he apparently killed two pittbulls for not preforming well in test fights.

Peace and Phillips were sentenced on November 30 by Judge Hudson. Their punishment was supervised probation, after they were released from prison. Also on November 30 a court hearing made it clear that Tony Taylor was helping Vick lead the "Bad Newz Kennel". Vick ended up getting twenty three months in prison. Tony Taylor was later released early on good behavior.

Animal shelters in Hampton Roads and Centeral Virginia, seized 49 dogs from vicks property. Only one was put down on the county it was overly aggresive and had a record of biting people. Judge Hudson ordered every dog be spayded or nuetered and to recive microchip implants. Now the pittbulls are given to good homes with plenty of supervision and uncondtional love and care.
