Micheal Clayton movie review
60A smart political thriller with some good performances from the lead (especially Tom Wilkinson) makes this a good watch even though it has its share of moments which might make the viewers with less knowledge of the workings of the janitors a bit confused initially but after that short phase, this film is a breath of fresh air if you look at it from a thriller point of view. George Clooney even though is nominated for the best actor category for the Oscars for this film, I never felt he deserved one because his was not as much a challenging role compared to the rest of the nominees and also I felt Tilda Swinton to did not deserve the nomination but I would i like to add that the film definitely deserved a nomination even though it would not win it. A highly recommended political thriller and much better than last years.
AWAY FROM HER
A film that will touch the coldest of hearts even though the director and the writer did not take any creative liberties to induce that pain which this man goes through on losing his wife to someone after being married for 44 years. The reason behind me appreciating this film is because everything is handled so gracefully and with supreme maturity by a writer and director who is in her 20s (Sarah Polley ) which is really shocking. Also I must say Julie Christi is so graceful and outstanding in a role which could have so easily gone unnoticed as Gordon Pinsent was given a more meatier role in terms of getting the sympathy votes from the audience. A must watch for people who love hardcore dramas as this one strikes you like a lightening in the heart.
ALIEN VERSUS PREDATOR II MOVIE REVIEW
It starts off poorly and after say 15 to 20 minutes, I felt like ditching the film but it gets interesting after say 50 minutes. Interesting in the sense that you can watch the film. The only scene that makes a mark was the one where this alien starts laying eggs inside the pregnant woman’s body; otherwise, there are no scenes that look original or worth mentioning. Just a one-time watch.
MITHIYA - A MUST WATCH THRILLER
By the title itself you can guess that the film would be different even if you would not understand the meaning after watching the entire film. Rajat Kapoor's latest offering is a brilliant dark gangster flick with humour put in and some delightful performances from the cast especially Ranvir Shorey (his best performance after Traffic Signal) and Neha Dhupia. After watching Rajat's previous film Mixed Doubles, I was really excited about his next since I loved that film which was every bit original and here to he does not disappoints and gives us the second best bollywood film I have seen this year and it follows none other than Taare Zameen Par (the best I have ever seen). Why does the film worked for me then the answer would be very simple because it delivers on every account that it promises. If you are looking for a good comedy, then this one is good, if you like character driven movie, then this film has characters that you care for, If you like gangster flicks, then this one has the right dark tone at the end to keep you engrossed throughout the proceedings and it is entertaining too. Hence Mithiya for me is a little gem which got unnoticed due to Jodha Akbar releasing the following week.
