Michelle Obama was seen wearing a pair of army green shorts leaving an airplane with her daughter Malia who was also wearing shorts.  The news reports went around the world that her dress was not becoming for the first lady of the United States.  Publishers rushed to say the most women executives dress comfortably even though they hold high profile positions. 

Also if you google the woman on p. 194 of Glamour magazine, you will see a woman sitting in her underwear with a belly that is not flat as the public is used to seeing in magazines.  The woman is not a celebrity but the readers are satisfied to have found a woman who most of them can relate to.

There are two wars going on in Afghanistan and Iraq and the news of the day is what the first lady is wearing.  You wonder if reporters do not have anything better to do than to follow Michelle Obama around to catch her in ordinary clothes.  Michelle Obama dressed appropriately when she met the queen and have been hailed for selecting an unknown such as Jason Wu to design her inaugural dress.  Now the minds of Americans will be filled with the green shorts showing her upper legs that is unheard of as she is the wife of President Obama.

The woman on p. 194 of Glamour magazine should have had on briefs with a control panel.  Americans are not used to seeing women in magazines with the curves that this lady is resting on.  Life is all too real for Americans and all they are asking is to show no surprises.  Michelle Obama should have had on a pill box hat with gloves with a dress for all seasons instead of the shorts that looked like a J Crew original. 

Obama is in the midst of a heated health care reform bill and would probably welcome a distraction but with a democratic majority, Michelle could have at least have Bo in tow.  Then Americans may have been more forgiving and would have been gazing at the first pet instead of the first lady legs of which she was showing a lot of.

The dose of reality that met Americans was a double whammy that did not have to be.  Americans want the status quo to stay the staus quo unless a tax rebate is involved.  Then it does not matter if Michelle Obama had on a miniskirt as long as that rebate check is received in time to pay that bill that is way past due.

Michelle Obama is a strong woman and have weathered talk of her fit arms and even took her first lady picture with all of her muscles fully displayed.  It is unlikely that Michelle thinks that she made a mistake in what she had on.  Michelle seemed to have put up with the hype about the arms and even about hugging the Queen of England.  It is certain that she will be forgiven for this wardrobe malfunction as well as the public wait to see  what she will be wearing tomorrow.  As for the woman who belly is resting on her thighs, she may decide to lose weight and may not think that the compensation was enough to show her body that needing toning.

Just as Jessica Simpson was pictured with the leopard outfit in humiliation and promptly lost weight, it is certain that there will be a sequel to the woman on page 194 of the Glamour magazine.  Because of all the hype, she is likely to appear on the Oprah Show and the Ellen Degeneris Show in her new toned body.  The woman may get the opportunity to dance on Dancing with the Stars and get screamed at by the judge on the end who is always yelling his comments about the dancers.  As for Michelle Obama, after being the first lady for only a short time, there is sure to see more of her as she settles into the White House.  Will the green shorts demote her from the fashion icon the media was trying to make of her?  Time will tell along with whatever pictures snooping photographers manage to take of Michelle Obama.
