Excel Video Tutorials

Like most people, I see myself as a pretty good user of Microsoft Excel. Inputting data in multiple columns, adding the values, creating the charts and graphs. However, sometimes I get stumped when someone asks me how to create a pivot table or use a simple countif function. Maybe I want to delete duplicate values or color code positive and negative values.

The problem is that I forgot how to do it! Some of these Excel functions you rarely use in your job, but out of the blue, you find yourself needing it for some odd reason, and everyone around you expects you to know how to do it and teach them. Now you're in trouble.

Because of those reasons, I'm putting together the best video tutorials in one reference page to come back and remind myself how to do some of these functions!

In addition, by looking at some job descriptions, some companies write in the job description that they want people who know how to use vlookup or pivot tables and all these other functions you've never used or heard of before.

Well, you might never have used these functions, but if you are familiar with Excel and can understand basic step by step video instructions, then it shouldn't be a problem for you to learn!

Most of the Excel video tutorials are version 2007. Some of them are using Excel 2003. It's a little bit difficult because there are a lot of people using the old version of Excel and are quite happy.

If you are looking for something more specific, click on the video to be redirected to the video tutorial page. Then just do a search for your own version of Excel.

Learning how to use pivot tables was pretty easy once I saw these two videos. Before I saw these tutorials I was one of those guys who thought pivot tables were too hard. Then I stumbled upon this youtube video, and voila! I'm now using pivot tables at work like a pro! Creating and analying reams of data is now a cinch!

So I was given an Excel file that had over 2,000 rows of data. I had to make sure the data was unique. From another source I knew there was an issue with duplicate IDs, so it was good that I knew of this conditional feature in Excel. I clicked on the conditional option, pointed to new and highlighted the duplicate data in yellow. I quickly found the duplicates highlighted in yellow and fixed the problem!

Thanks but I didn't make the videos. This page is a compilation of some Excel videos that I've found useful.
