Microsoft announced that mobile phones with its new version of Windows Mobile 6.5 operating system will launch globally on October 6th.

Features of Windows Mobile 6.5

--- The latest version has new user interface and honeycomb start screen for each application that are designed to be easier to use on touch-screen mobiles.

--- New version of Internet Explorer Mobile.This one will be useful for online transactions.Capable of playing Flash.

--- Microsoft My Phone is made to backup photos,contacts,calendar events and other required information stored on a mobile to a password protected site.This will compete with Google's Sync and Apple's MobileMe.

--- Windows Marketplace for Mobile will provide a center place for mobile apps like Apple iphone App Store.

Windows Mobile is in third place behind Nokia Symbian and Research In Motion Blackberry.HP, HTC,SAMSUNG,LG and TOSHIBA are planning to release mobiles on this new platform.
