Choosing Windows Registry Cleaners

Once a computer has been running with Internet access for about a month the user will start to experience the effects of spyware, registry errors and adware. If the computer is running slow, freezing, or worse yet crashes, it is time to look for a windows registry cleaner to help you clean up the system. There are many programs available that will help get the job quickly and easily for users of any level of experience. There are a few features that should be provided with the registry cleaner that is chosen.

Based on my previous experience a windows registry cleaner should offer, at a bare minimum, these three benefits:

Registry Backup – This is a very important feature. By doing a backup of the current registry you can easily restore files in case any problems arise while executing the registry cleanup. This feature many never be needed but it provides users with real peace of mind.

Free Scan – By using the free scan that is offered by most companies that provide a quality windows registry cleaner, it is easy to see how that particular program operates. A demo version is downloaded and will run a scan that will detect any errors on your registry. This feature can help compare features, allowing for an informed buying decision.

Windows Start Up Manager – This feature will give the user control of how Windows start up. One can choose which programs should open at start up and which ones will not. This comes in handy in the event that slow running applications are causing problems at start-up; The PC can still be started. Once the computer is running the application that was causing problems can be deleted.

It is a good idea to check out the customer support that is provided with the program. Many will offer a toll free phone number or a live chat system. At the very least insist on a support ticket system.

A quality windows registry cleaner will provide these three features as well as many more. I also recommend using the “automatic scan” feature that most programs include. This feature allows for scheduling automatic scans of the system using just about any criteria.

This is perfect for busy people who may forget to run the scan often. Regular scans are recommended in order to keep your computer running as fast as possible with far fewer registry errors. How often the scan should be run will depend on the computer usage and may vary widely for user to user.
