Many people like to imitate or impersonate others. How many people have seen an Elvis Presley imitator? There must be thousands of Elvises running around, and some of them are actually pretty good. It’s a regular kind of industry.

Miley Cyrus certainly has her share of impersonators. If you don’t already know, Miley Cyrus, a.k.a. Hannah Montana, is a pop, movie and TV star. Did I leave something out? Oh, yeah! Miley, with a little help, wrote her autobiography. She also plays guitar, writes songs and is a lithe dancer. Miley is perhaps the most famous teenager on the planet (if not the most photographed).

Below I’ve arranged a collection of Miley Cyrus impersonations. I only picked videos with good sound quality and visual clarity (I also left out the ones turned sideways!), and here are the best I could find. Moreover, if you’re one of those Miley impersonators, I Hope it is your Destiny to become One in a Million. Oh woah.

But first, here are EIGHT TIPS for doing a good Miley Cyrus impersonation:

1. As much as possible, make sure you look like either Miley Cyrus or Hannah Montana; or, at the very least, start out brunette and then throw on a blonde wig. It should be obvious who you are from beginning to end.

2. Either pantomime one of Miley’s songs or actually sing it; don’t do a little bit of both. Really good impersonations are expressed consistently.

3. Don’t use any lewd or lascivious gestures. Miley considers herself a good girl, so you should portray her appropriately. Unless you’re doing a parody, of course, then do what you want. But you might offend Miley’s fans or Miley herself. She watches the Internet!

4. If you're making a video, be certain the technical aspects of your show are presentable – use steady camera work and good sound quality, and make sure you have enough light so that people can actually see what the heck you’re doing.

5. Don’t chatter to yourself or someone else before you start performing, just get to it!

6. Vary your technique; don’t keep making the same gestures over and over again. Once you run out of ideas it’s time to end the performance. A minute or two is probably plenty of time to show people what you’ve got.

7. As for imitating Miley’s talking voice, perhaps you’ve realized she sounds a lot like - ELVIS! Miley’s voice is a feminized approximation of Elvis’, particularly when she’s in her Southern accent mode. So just imitate Elvis and then raise the pitch of your voice, throw in a “Saaay what?” or “I’m just sayin’!” or "You're creepin' me out! and you’ll sound just like her. (Interestingly, Elvis is one of those “dead guys” Miley likes.)

8. Maybe the best thing to do is watch The Miley and Mandy Show on YouTube. Watch and practice, and I’m sure you’ll kick some serious tail eventually. (And your video may end up here. Who cares, right? Okay:)
