Have YOU Got The Millionaire Mentality?

In these dark and difficult times (allegedly) the current economic situation has become the de facto topic of the media doom and gloom merchants.

Everyone is now firmly ingrained with the belief that “there’s no money”, “we’re all doomed”, “it’s financial meltdown” blah, blah, blah.

For goodness sake – shake yourself out of it!

First up some observation.

I did a weekend trip to New York (from London) recently. First class, Club and even Economy Plus was full up…not a single seat empty.

New York was madness with people rushing around buying things, enjoying shows and the outstanding bars and clubs.

There is money out there!

I had to pick my brother-in-law up at Heathrow, the M25 (London’s orbital motorway) was its normal chaos. People were rushing around all over the place. I accidentally went out in the rush hour, it’s the same mayhem as it’s ever been.

Economic activity continues, most people are still working!

I fully accept that some people are in financial trouble, are hurting. However, and I’m going to be controversial here, it’s because of their own bad decisions!

We are where we are because of the past decisions and actions we have taken. In your face but…TRUE! In your heart of hearts, you know this!

The Internet is booming, here’s the proof…

The Internets top ten retailers saw Christmas (2008) sales increase by an average of 37%. In the meantime the high street screamed, complained, gave stuff away and kicked a bit too.

Nielsen Online reported Amazon was the U.K’s most visited site in December 2008. Amazon had an incredible 15.6 million visitors up a massive 17% over 2007. And, in that time we saw two major music retailers in the U.K go down the tubes (Woolworths and Zavvi).

The message is clear, online businesses are raking it in.

Need more proof? U.K online catalogue operator Littlewoods clocked a mouthwatering 66% upswing in December 2008.

It’s clear as the nose on your face!

The Money IS There!

Finally, I have some recruitment buddies who have just raised £3.5 million for a new recruitment (yes, recruitment) venture.

The money IS there!

So, what’s all this about perception?

Well, if you look at the evidence that is before you (your honour), you will clearly see what is currently being written about the recession, is complete and utter…crap!

There is money about lots of it. However the media are battering us into believing it really is financial Armageddon out there.

Now, here is the real “rub” of the situation.

If you keep “ingesting” this crap day after day…you are going to start to believe it.

Even worse, you start to focus on it and guess what happens?

It’s a fact of life that you get what you focus on! Enough said.

It becomes a self-fulfilling prophecy.

So, if you want money and riches, it is money and riches that is what you need to focus on. You have to get your mind right.

If you keep focussing on having nothing no matter how hard you try you will not build wealth or indeed earn any money!

I heard it called “stinking thinking”, I did laugh. It’s spot on!

I heard Pat Mesitti speak last summer and he told an incredible story about a boxing world champion who amassed $400 million in a championship laden career.

However, within a couple of years of retirement he was completely broke and having to file for bankruptcy.

$400 million just…gone! How?

Drink, drugs, hangers on? I’ve no idea, but what a waste of talent and resources. He simply didn’t have the “millionaire mentality”. And, because of his poor thinking and mental state…he ended up with what he thought he was worth - which was nothing!

Firstly, you must learn how to deal with money at its most basic level. You will never become wealthy if you don’t know how to deal with money – fact!

A must read book on this subject is “The Richest Man in Babylon” by George S Clason. ISBN 0-451-16520-9. I understand you can get it on free download nowadays. Google it, find it and download – urgento!

At worst you’ll pay a few bucks for it, but it is, without doubt, worth millions. You will learn everything you need to know about how to deal with money.

My eBook Total Control is a great companion to this book. In it I teach you how to break any money-making situation down into it’s component parts and use them to build money make systems. In effect how to turn time into money!

However, “The Richest Man in Babylon” will teach you how money really works at the most basic level. If this book was on the high school reading curriculum, the media would be talking about something different at the moment!

Next up, you’ll need to understand how the great entrepreneurial minds work. Your “bible” here is the incredible “Think and Grow Rich” by Napoleon Hill. One of the greatest entrepreneurs of all time the amazing American industrialist and multi, multi millionaire Dale Carnegie set a young journalist, Napoleon Hill, the task of finding out the common success traits of highly successful people.

“Think and Grow Rich” which took Napoleon Hill many years of research and interviews was the powerful result. It is a must read.

Moving on, one of the primary reasons that many people fail is fear. In most cases fear is caused by the unknown, the act of getting outside of your “comfort zone”. Again, this is something you inherently know, but the only way to overcome such (irrational) fear is to actually do the thing you fear! It will be very uncomfortable first time, but each time you do it, it becomes easier until the fear is gone completely.>

“Feel The Fear and Do It Anyway” by Susan Jeffers is the best book I have found on this subject of overcoming fear and taking action..This book was a massive help to me when I first went into If fear is stopping you, get this book. ISBN 0-09-974100-8.

Lastly…be happy! You have probably heard it said that success is a journey, not a destination.

You might as well enjoy the journey otherwise I would suggest there is very little point.

I have said many times before if you want to succeed online there is a lot to learn. A lot of trial and error and lot of late nights at the P.C. I know it’s probably not what you want to hear, but…you are building your “designer” future lifestyle here.

So, be prepared for a journey, enjoy it and be happy.

There will be times when you feel like you are going mad, want to take it out on your nearest and dearest, feel like packing it all in and crawling into a hole. But, it’s people whop have that ability to keep going when the going is at its toughest that succeed.

I had so many set backs, particularly when I first went online, but I just kept coming back. This is a key point so remember it, ingrain it in your mind…you only have to get up one more time than you are knocked down to win.

So, enjoy the journey and be happy. You’ll be surprised at how positively others react to you if you are a happy soul.

The book “Being Happy” by Andrew Matthews is just a brilliant guidebook on how to be happy on your success journey.

I picked up this amazing book in (I think) 1988 and it has been a constant and valued companion. I can’t tell you how many benefits this little book has brought to me. It helped me stay happy through some very bleak times. I strongly recommend you have a read. ISBN 981-00-0664-0.
