Misspelt keywords are all but forgotten about by many bloggers, hubbers and writers when targeting keywords.

Mispelt keywurds return just as much traffic as their proper spelt keyword and bring in just as much traffic.

The reason why is very simple. Not everyone can spell and not everyone is totally educated in the English language, be it from their native tongue language to just not paying attention during English classes.

The very fact that visitors when searching for keywords will type in what they think the keyword is or they may hit the wrong key when typing, returns a search result for the misspelt keyword.

That is a boon for all blog and web page owners. Throw a few mispelt keywords into the mix and watch the traffic stats climb.

Even Google themselves recognize that mispelt keywords has a place in the search engine index. Look at the following keywords tool provided by Google. I have marked the mispelt keywords as well as the traffic that keyword will gather each month.

Following on from my Hubpage titled Keywords Think Outside The Square I had started a website targeting a mispelt keyword to see if I could get traffic and also will it make money.

I started a simple wordpress blog titled Credt Online Resources a purposely mispelling of the keyword "credit". Very quickly the site landed a high position on Google for the search term and continues to hold its position after several months.

Traffic to the site is inconsistent, that is, there is not a minimum average number per day. Some days get no traffic and other days there is quite a substantial number of traffic.

You can imagine the return the site can generate.

Targeting mispelt keywords does work in a fashion. It will not make you rich, but I suspect if you do happen on that one mispelt keyword that is often searched for, then yes, you will get lots of traffic as your site will easily outrank the known spelling of the keyword.

Because every man cat and his dog has targeted all the good keywords, you will be battling to get to page one of a search engine.

As no one, or hardly no one (wink,wink) is targeting misspelt keywords, then be assurred that you will and can easily rank a site for the mispelt keyword.

Lets take an example. Look at Yahoo search for the mispelt keyword of insurance for "innsurence".

There you can see the search term of the mispelt word "innsurence" returns a 20k result on Yahoo.

In the Google keyword tool, there is a result. Albeit, the result is not that good, but still, it is a result.

I'd be quite happy with 140 visitors a month clicking my advertisement for insurance at a ten per cent click through rate, wouldn't you?

So here is something for nothing. Register the domain of Innsurence.com, put in some very good content surrounded by advertising.

No search engine listing brings back the mispelt keyword in the all in title or url.

If you have that site, or for that matter, any other mispelt keyword site, then your site will be number one as there is no other like site listed on the search engine index to beat you.

There is an easy way to get to number one on any search engine.
