Miss Universe 2007 pictures

Miss Universe 2007, the 56th Miss Universe pageant, taked place on 28 May 2007 at the National Auditorium in Mexico City, Mexico. 77 delegates competed for the title, currently held by Puerto Rico's Zuleyka Rivera.

The pageant held almost two months prior to when it was held in 2006, although the event has generally been staged between late May and early June since 2001. Reigning Miss Universe Zuleyka Rivera would reign for little more than ten months, one of the shortest in the history of the title. Contestants began to arrive in Mexico on 30 April 2007 and are to be involved in a number of appearances and events prior to the final competition

What are your interests and what do you enjoy doing the most?

I enjoy reading art books and painting. I am interested in working with the orphans of my country and other countries, as well. I also love music and I want to travel around the world to study art history.

What is your career ambition?

To become a famous painter.

Describe where you were raised and what your childhood was like.

I was born in Tirana, the capital of Albania. I have a younger sister. I had a very happy family. I have a lot of friends.

What do you want the judges to know about you?

I come from the country of Mother Theresa and I am very proud of being Albanian; it is a big part of who I am. In the future want to use my abilities to help my family and my people.

What are your interests and what do you enjoy doing the most?

My interests are fashion, music and trying to help my country, especially the children. I like listening to music, writing, surfing on the internet, taking pictures and going out with the friends.

What is your career ambition?

To someday be a judge and be a model.

Describe where you were raised and what your childhood was like.

I was raised in a social area, Fonte da Prata. I had a very nice childhood there because I had a lot of friends and the love of my older brothers. They treated me like I was a cute doll and took care of me.

What do you want the judges to know about you?

I never knew my father. He died two months before I was born. I also want the judges to know that have I suffered from racism. There have been times when I have walked down the street that I have been called names because I have an interracial heritage. I have received insults from both sides - African and Caucasian. It is very humiliating; I feel very sad about it because it is horrible when it happens.
