"Mistaken Identity"

April 17, 2008

He got up

Used the bathroom

Took a shower

Something is wrong

He is not sure what

Kissing her goodbye

Telling her he loves her

He finishes getting ready

Off to work he goes

Arriving home

Feeling her anger

At one of his lies

He stands and takes it

Later he knows that something is wrong

He cannot seem to get it right

Buying time he lies more

She knows it

He knows she does not understand it

Something is wrong

Trying to put a face to it

He thinks about it

Still not knowing what it is

He avoids it

Unknowingly making it worse

A few years later

He has it

He thinks he knows what it is

The face to his problems

So sure he has it

He tells her what it is

She is upset and cries

He tells her he wants to leave

That he just does not want to be married anymore

Yet he is still here

With her months now after his declaration

She asks herself

Does he really want to leave?

If he does, then why is he still here?
