By The Lost Dutchman

The Dutch singer-songwriter and "alternative history investigator" Corjan de Raaf - or simply Corjan - writes pop songs with a head, a tail and a story in between. Until now, Corjan was probably best known for his contributions to the research into the Rennes-le-Château Mystery. The enigma surrounding the French priest Bérenger Saunière who became rich and powerful almost overnight after he had made a mysterious discovery, has captivated audiences for decades and inspired countless books. Today, Corjan's RLC Research is one of the most authoritative sites in the field.

In September 2009 he started a new project: The Book of Love was a pop song inspired by Kathleen McGowan's bestselling novel of the same name. With his song, Corjan de Raaf establishes a crossover between his careers as a recording artist and his work as a researcher and publicist. McGowan and Corjan first met in Bruges, Belgium, in May 2009 when they both attended the Procession of the Holy Blood.

At first without realising it fully, Corjan had created a whole new genre of music: "Mystery Pop" written, sung, played and produced by his own hands... and with a mystery story in between.

In October 2009, he was the guest of the Controversial TV show. Corjan talked for some 45 minutes about his Mystery Pop project, his co-operation with Kathleen McGowan... and now also with Patrice Chaplin. He had indeed written a new song, inspired by Hollywood icon Patrice Chaplin's book City of Secrets, the captivating tale of author and playwright Patrice Chaplan's early years spent in a mysterious town in Spain. Her story follows the intriguing villagers of Girona, many of whom belong to a secret society formed to protect the legacy of Abbe Saunière of Rennes-le-Château. The mysteries surrounding him are at the very heart of the modern Grail phenomenon...
