Mlm Leads & Mlm Lead Companies- Do Not Go Near Them!

Network Marketing Leads from mlm lead companies often seem to be a complete waste of time and money. Many of us involved with network marketing feel that way. But few of us have ever been on the "inside" of how these companies operate. This article will reveal my experiences selling leads online, and the shocking truth about the industry in general.

First, I must be upfront and say that I was not selling mlm leads. Rather, I was selling leads to mortgage brokers. These were leads of homeowners looking to re-finance, or individuals looking to buy a new home. The person that I worked for is known in the industry as a "consolidator", which is just a fancy term for wholesaler.

The Names Will Be Witheld To Protect The Guilty

Consolidators "harvest" their own leads, and resell them to individuals, who in turn, sell the leads at the retail level. My boss generated the leads as a result of visitors filling out contact information on any of three websites. Many factors dictate the relative price of a lead. The critical factors that influence pricing are: 1) How "fresh" the leads are. In other words, how recently did the visitor supply the information, "fresher" leads are costlier. 2) How many times the lead in re-sold. Consolidators frequently will sell the same lead to several different retailers. Leads that are sold to fewer people are more costly. And the most costly leads are "real-time" leads. These leads are contacted almost as soon as they have submitted contact information.

Mlm Lead Companies Simply Cannot Be Trusted!

So what, you may ask , is the problem?

What I soon discovered was the amazing amount of deceit regarding the various lead types. Individual leads which were purchased because they were supposedly less than 24 hours "old", were in fact, many days old. Other leads which were purchased because they were supposedly only sold to three other retailers ,were in fact re-sold many more times. One individual in particular, purchased leads that were to be re-sold no more than three times. They received calls from seven mortgage brokers the very next morning after supplying their info!

I Quit The Next day After That.

Mlm leads are even worse quality than mortgage leads. At least the individuals requesting mortgage rate quotes are aware of what they are applying for. A typical mlm company "lead" is an individual who is invited to receive a gift for filling out some contact information. The form may have some questions about starting a home based business, but the individual filling out the form is more interested in the free gift than starting a home based business. Because of this process, it is not unusual to call an mlm lead and have them completely unaware of why you are calling!

More Deceit From The Lead Companies

From my experience, the classification of mlm leads is not the least bit genuine. Frequently the telemarketers that secure the leads are "under the gun" to produce different amounts of leads in different categories. Usually they have a quota they have to fill, and little time to fill it. That type of pressure creates a complete loss, or disregard of ,quality control. Unfortunately, their is little a consumer can do to protect themselves. Lead companies will generally guarantee their leads and replace leads that have bad phone numbers, under age, etc. They just replace the bad leads with more bad leads.

Here Is The Solution....

About 30 minutes ago I was shopping for a new leads company since the prior three I had tried were worthless. I suddenly realized I was banging my head against a brick wall and getting no where and that probably wouldn't change no matter how many lead companies I tried and wasted my time and money on. So I did a google search on "lead company scams" and luckily came across your post. You confirmed what my instincts were telling me. I always knew self generated leads were the best and I continue to work that marketing avenue(s), but I still need more leads to fill my pipeline so I've been purchasing them. I think it's time I refocused my prospecting time with these paid leads and instead focus on drawing traffic to my website, www.freedomtolivelife.com, thus generating more self generated leads. Speaking of which, that's a canned site provided by another company and I hate it and think it's "ad blind". Just another project on my plate...to create my own web site with different content, look, feel, a lot less hype and less "vagueness", with all the same bells and whistles and more.

I will definitely check out your attraction marketing suggestion. I think I could really use the advice right about now as I feel a little lost.

Thanks again for an easy to understand, well rounded post that told me exactly what I needed to hear!
