Only Speak To Mlm Prospects That Want To Speak With You!

I really hate to make cold calls. And, I KNOW I am not the only on who does! Unfortunately, cold calling and network marketing have gone hand in hand for a LONG time!

YUCK!

In fact, the frustrations and disappointments suffered by network marketers making cold calls has undoubtedly led to the sky high attrition in the industry. But, take heart networkers, and welcome to the DEATH of cold calling!

The main problem with cold calling is that you are frequently calling people that have no interest in mlm, much less interest in your particular company. This, of course, constitutes an exercise in futility. Logic should tell you that the best candidates for your network marketing company, are people who like network marketing.

Hell-oooo!! What a concept.

The trick has always been to find these network marketing fans. In the past, you could call genealogy lists, or place classified ads. These methods are either too expensive or woefully inefficient. What then, is the solution?

Enter, the Internet!

The Net allows us to target mlm prospects in 3 ways. First, by advertising in Google Adwords, or being listed in the organic search listings. With either method, prospects are typing in search terms directly related to an interest in mlm. One must take care to carefully select applicable key words, in order to streamline our process of only attracting the most interested prospects. A landing page, or website will be necessary to gather the person's information, as well.

But, the point is, these are INTERESTED prospects!

The 2nd way you can attract targeted prospects in through participation in online forums. Select forums through Google "groups", for example, that focus on network marketing or home based business. Participate regularly with useful posts, and pretty soon members will gravitate toward your website/landing page through your signature link.

LOVE that Web 2.0!

Finally, join several of the most popular social networking sites. These sites are chock full of people who LOVE to network, especially Facebook and MySpace. Get to know like minded members and form online relationships. The biggest mistake you can make is to "push" your business on members of the community. That is the fastest route to never getting an e-mail returned again!

Your real "ace in the hole", for finding interested mlm prospects on the Net is to be trained in attraction marketing. Renegade University is a FREE members only site that trains students to leverage the power of the Internet to draw prospects to you and your business. Superb, step-by-step video tutorials train students on marketing with video, article marketing, email marketing, and marketing to the Web 2.0 communities.

Amen to the death of cold calling. I can't tell you how many people hung up on me, cussed me out, screamed, etc... with my upline telling me 'that's ok 99 no's is just 1 away from that 'yes'. It's a shame that some marketers still teach that concept. Thanks for the hub...~jennifer

Thanks for your comment! Cold calling would not be so inefficient if the leads provided were somewhat legitimate. Refer to my hub on leadcompanies, and you can understand that they are not.

Good Article. Cold calling is a necessary evil for sales, but for network marketing it doesn't seem to be all that efficient as you are really looking for duplication. 95% of all people hate cold calling. So unless you are only going to recruit sales people you are a 100% right. Most sales people fail in MLM because they are only taught to close, not train, and duplicate.

Thanks for the feedback, John! I would say that most "closers" fail in mlm. Quality sales people, who don't think of themselves as "sales people", can do very well. You are obviously a quality sales person.
