Have you finally found that lot in the country you want to put your home on? Do you already own a mobile home that you want to relocate or do you have a mobile home or prefabricated modular home that you want to place on your new site?

If so you will need to find a mobile home mover that can get you from your current location to your new location. While many mobile home parks have been sold and are being closed or reduced in size to make room for development of single family homes or condominiums, the need for mobile home movers has increased.

Normally if you are purchasing a mobile home for the first time, your move to the site you want to have everything hooked up to is included in the price and many times it is the mobile home dealer that actually does the move for you. Sometimes the mobile home park or community has a company that they do business with that you can use.

If none of these address your current situation you will need to contact local modular home dealers, the community you are planning on moving to, or in the case of moving to your own lot with your own utilities you will need to check the Yellow Pages, internet or recommendations from friends.

In Tennessee, Access Mobile Home Transport is an excellent choice for mobile home movers. They have been moving homes for the last eighteen years and have worked with disaster relief organizations and FEMA during that time as well. Access Mobile Home Transport offers extremely low rates for either in state or state to state transport rates.

Your rate will depend on what you need Access to do for you. They have “Take Downs” or preparation for transport, the actual transport of your mobile home, “Set Ups”, and Pilot Cars to make sure your home arrives safely. Set Up services may vary depending on each particular states rules and regulations.

All rates include pilot cars and hotel charges and any necessary permits. The rates are also based on the mileage you provide at the time of your estimate. Their rates do not include the cost of any equipment necessary for the removal or installation of the mobile home like excavators, bulldozers or wreckers.

Down time is calculated at fifty dollars per hour and is charged if the home cannot be removed due to homeowner negligence or if they cannot remove the home due to trees or other growth issues around the home. You are credited for two hours at both ends of the mobile home pull so you are not charged down time until the expiration of those two hour periods.

Access offers a checklist of what to do when considering moving your mobile home like the age and how far it is to be transported. Is your home structurally sound enough to be transported? If not, what would the cost be to get it ready to go? This could include new tires, wheel bearings, springs and other repairs to the mechanical and structural areas.

You also need to know that the mobile homes were designed to be moved with only the factory installed furniture, appliances and fixtures your home had at when purchased. Since your purchase you may have added or replaced furniture and all of our household possessions.

The more weight added to the “Base” weight of your unit the greater chance for structural damage while moving. There are other items that can not be moved in a mobile home, just like in regular moving trucks. Hazardous materials like oil, gas, paint, chemicals, propane cylinders, heat pumps, air conditioning units or compressors and lawn mowers can not be moved in a mobile home.

You will want to remove any outside TV or satellite antennas, fragile, heavy or antique furniture, patio furniture, freezers or refrigerators other than factory installed ones, and pianos or electric organs. It's all about office furniture movers. These you can transport via another moving service or in a rental truck that you can drive and follow the pilot care to your destination. If you feel your mobile home will not survive the trip you need to either sell or rent your mobile home instead of calling mobile home movers.
