ModMommy~Random Acts Of Kindness and Such
46Things we've done...
We try to teach our children to be helpful and kind without getting a reward for doing it. Just being kind for the sake of being kind.
As the horrible destruction of Hurricane Katrina sat in, my husband filled our trunk up with diapers, formula, baby wipes, water, etc. He drove to a small town outside of the heart of the destruction. He found that there were babies without anyone or anything. He took the stuff to them and just felt good because he did. (Man, that still makes me tear up.)
During the same week, my then 9 year old son started collecting money. He put his allowance, all the change he found cleaning the house, called family and asked for and received several donations, etc. He raised over $100.00. He took it to his school principal and told her to find out which evacuees needed the money. We had several attending our school. She was able to help him and deliver the money. (Okay, now I am crying.)

Wow, I guess most of us aren't aware that there are that many opportunities at our fingertips to do good. Thanks for making me aware of that.
