Being a multi-pet owner I am very pleased to find ideas and freebies for my animals. We are the proud co-habitors with 2 cats, 1 dog (Shitz-poo or Shizu-Poodle), 2 turtles, one fish, one aquatic crab and a snake. Often we find that our pets consider us their humans. We do enjoy watching the cat run into a bag, the dog chase a light around up and down the wall, the crab eating, and so on. We are owned. 2/3/08-My dog is adhd. I swear he can jump straight up 5 ft, bark the highest pitched bark I've ever heard, sling slobber 2 to 4 feet around him while harassing our cat. But here's where the attention deficit comes in... He can't stay on one thing for more than 20 seconds. Except barking for hours at a root that he's been trying to dig/pull up for 2 days. He's really a cute little guy, but he's very busy. :)

I would not know what to do, it would kill me. There are some things that I've read about when dealing with your pet missing. First, you should call your local animal shelter to see if he/she is there. You sould call your Animal Control Officers to see if they have picked up any animals. You can arrange a search with some of your friends and family. You can post flyers and run ads in the newspaper. American Classifieds used to let you post a free FOUND ad on their front page.

I also found a few sites you can go to to post if you have lost yours or found someone elses pet.

When someone decides to get a pet, that pet should become an important part of that perons life. It does cost more than the initial adoption fee and bago fo food to care of a pet. We spend quite a lot on pet foods, medications, supplies, vet bills, etc. It's something we do. It's something we chose to do. It saddens me when pets are not cared for as the should be. I had to take my 4 year old dog to the vet right before Christmas. We found that he'd not been properly immunized for heartworms. (My fault) He turned out to be positive for heart worms. I felt awful for several reasons. One, I had no idea how a dog contracted heart worms, so I thought it was from me not doing something I should have for him; other than the immunization. I found out that they are carried by mosquitoes. Anyway, it was a costly treatment. I had no choice though. I couldn't let him suffer. I couldn't put him down. I had to do what needed to be done, at my own cost, regardless. Now, after having said that I've thought about pet insurance. I've looked into a few things and found this site to be helpful. http://www.petinsurance.com/ I'm still considering different options, but will have my pet insured as soon as possible. There are a ton of things that the insurance will help cover. Routine check-ups, immunizations, certain procedures, medications and so on. It's pretty much a no brainer if you are a multi-pet owner. My repsonsibilites with my pets lie somewhere along my responsibilites as a parent. I know my children's needs are first and foremost. My pets needs are important as well.
