Here's how to get that JDM look on your Honda Civic without going overboard like pimp my ride. You can chnage the look of your car ubtly to get that JDM feel.

If you live in the US or UK and are in the modified car scene you know that the JDM scene is the hottest. JDM stands for Japanese Domestic Market and it means different things to many peopl.

It could be the japanese parts, the japanese tuning aftermarket parts, it could be just the look of the japanese cars.

You don't even need to spend that much to get it looking JDM style. A few parts off ebay and you are ready to go.

The first thing you probably will do is to get some alloys. There's only one choice of alloys for me to get that JDM look and these are then Rota's.

They come in various shapes and sizes so it's just your preference but all of them give that JDM feel.

For the hatchback civics I prefer the 16" but the 17"s will look good too and perform. The key is to go with the rigfht set of alloys for the car and not that bigger is better. I have seen Hatchback Civics with 18" and some look good but these are blinged out, we want to go for that subtle JDM look.

The Grill

Replace your standard grill with a JDM Type R Lip. This will transform your car subtly and give a more aggressive feel to the car.

Type R Lip Kit - Front & Rear Spliiter Lip

These are really simple to fit, they fit onto your exisitng bumper, all you need to do is get it sprayed to your colour. You can leave it black or if you get a carbon fibre spliiter it will still look good.

Leaving it black will make it look good paired with a carbon fibre bonnet.

There are differnt styles you can choose from. The Type R Style is popular aswell as the Mugen Lips.

I prefer the mugen lips as they are more bigger but the type r really goes with the car design.

Get that Japanese Drift style with a Carbon Fibre Hood. This will make your car stand out but it's not over the top.

The car is pretty much done now. Once your car has been lowered and you have fitted an exhaust it will be perfect.

You can add more things but I like to keep it simple.

There are many lights out in the market but it all dpeends on the colour of your car. I like the black angel eyes on the front but I ike to keep the standard lights at the back. I don't really like the lexus ights. If you have the older models with ornage indicators you could change the lights for more updated crystal lights or LEDS. I like the standard Type R Lights with the red and white.
