During the winter months, your heat goes up, the T.V. is on more often and your hair gets drier than any other time of the year. Combine this winter dryness with coloring your hair, blow-drying everyday, and using a thermal tool like a curling iron, and you have one big, moisture needing, frizzy, head of hair. Switching over from your regular shampoo and conditioner to a hydrating line will prove to be worlds of help. When you are trapped indoors with the heat blaring your hair is being dried out by the lack of moisture. Using a hydrating shampoo and conditioner will help improve the quality of your hair and add in that much needed moisture. If you use a lot of heat on your hair (i.e. blow dryer, flat iron, etc.)you should also be using a repairing treatment. Your hair will be dried out more in the winter regardless. If you are having color done, plus drying and styling each day, you are just asking for trouble. Purchasing a vitamin or moisture treatment that you leave on for about 5-10 minutes will add in the extra moisture and restore the damage to your hair. Nice hydrating conditioners can also double as this type of mask treatment if left on for a little longer than normal use would require. If you are having a problem with frizz during the winter it is likely the cause of the winter blues as well. Switching shampoos and conditioners, or at least flip flopping between your usual and a moisturizing line, should help to correct extreme frizz and tame down some of that thirsty hair.
