Wart Removal: It’s Worth Trying Everything From Salicylic Acid To Laser

The virus that causes plantar warts to develop is surprisingly the same one that causes cervical cancer. The virus in question is none other than human papilloma virus or HPV. However, there are some differences between HPV that causes plantar warts and the one responsible for causing cervical cancer. Nevertheless, the reason why people develop plantar warts is that they have come into direct contact with the HPV and there are in fact three main reasons why you could develop plantar warts.

How Does HPV Affect You?

The HPV can affect you if you frequent places that are warm and damp which is where such a virus thrives and affects unsuspecting people. However, you can also contract plantar warts by coming into physical contact with somebody that already has the problem such as your sleeping partner in which case contact between your feet and your partner’s feet can cause the problem to occur. Finally, you can also develop plantar warts if your feet have become especially dry or cracked and because of a weakened immune system.

No matter how you have developed plantar warts you will still need to find out more about plantar wart removal methods and the good news is that there are several options available that will help remove the ugliness.

First and foremost, you can affect plantar wart removal through use of salicylic acid that is something that is readily available over-the-counter and which can affect complete plantar wart removal in as few as just a month. Of course, you will need to make daily applications of the salicylic acid in order to get the desired results.

Cryotherapy is another plantar wart removal option and this is a method that requires that the wart be frozen through applying liquidized nitrogen. Once this liquid nitrogen is applied directly to the plantar wart you will then need to wait for the effects to take place and pretty soon you will notice your warts will have begun to fall away.

Another plantar wart removal method, using duct tape has for long been used to remove plantar warts and it works pretty much like when you use cryotherapy or salicylic acid. All you need to do with this plantar wart removal method is apply some tape to the wart and leave it on for about six days after which you need to wash the affected part and once the area dries off you must then rub away the deadened wart skin with the help of nail file or even a pumice stone. In about six months you can hope to see your efforts pay off completely.

You can also use laser surgical plantar wart removal option though this method is more expensive and it can also prove to be quite painful. Lastly, you can also opt for another plantar wart removal called electrodessication that is very effective but which cannot prevent a left-over scar at the sight of the original wart.
