Is It Possible To Monetize Your Videos

Monetizing your videos is an excellent way to generate additional income in your marketing effort.

Have you noticed lately that when you post your video to some of the free video sharing sites that they are plastering advertising over the video and around it? It can feel a little confronting to have an ad shown with your video, particularly if you aren't receiving any of the goodness that the site receives from showing the 3rd party ads.

Wouldn't it be great if you could share in the revenue that site produces from 3rd party advertisements when your video is shown? Well, it is possible.

There are a number of free Video sharing sites that are set up to receive income from 3rd party companies for advertising. The advertising is shown as part of your video, like a ticker tape (or news headlines) that runs across the bottom of your screen, and each time your video is viewed, a percentage of the advertising revenue is shared with you.

I use Revver.com to share educational videos I produce about Internet Marketing and using your computer.

When you upload your video to Revver.com, an advertisement and Revvers' unique tracking technology is attached to it. This is commonly known as "Revverizing".

Once uploaded to Revver.com, there are two ways that your video can generate income. Of course, the income is generated by the associated ad that is shown on the video. The first way revenue can be generates is from impressions/views of the ad (CPM ads), When a viewer sees a CPM ad associated with your video, you get paid, no click required.

The second way of earning is from clicks on the ad (CPC ads). When a viewer clicks on a CPC ad associated with your video, you get paid.

Now here's the cool part. Revver.com pays you as the Creator 40% of the revenue it earns from either of these methods. However, if you are sharing other peoples videos - Revver will share 20% of the revenue it earns! The remaining 40% goes directly to Revver.

There may be restrictions on the earnings, and it helps to understand these. Not every impression or click will result in revenue, as some advertisers only buy traffic from the US and Canada, so if you video is viewed in another country, the advertiser doesn't pay for that viewing. Which is cool..... Also, multiple repeated impressions or clicks from a single user on a single video are scrubbed as duplicates.

Revver.com provides an Account Dashboard for you to track video's performance. In the Account Dashboard, you can see exactly how many times your video is watched, and how much money you're earning.

What I really like about the Revver system is that the ads are attached to the video itself. This means that there are no restrictions on how your videos are distributed. In fact, the more people that email your video, post it to other websites or download it from P2P networks, the more money you could earn.

The amount of money you can earn from Revver is not specified. The impacting factor is really how popular your videos are.

I put my videos on my own blog as well, and receive income from Revver anytime someone views the embedded video.

I strongly recommend Revver as a Video Sharing and Income Generating Site.

Thanks for some insightful info on Revver. I just started using Revver and got my first video loaded to its site but it took me a long time and many attempts before I finally succeded. I think Revver has got lots of potential. Good luck.
