How to Make Money on Hubpages Twittering
75Monetizing with Twitter
I read that tweet willl monetize adding more commercial companies than Zappos, Dunkin Donuts, Jet Blue and a few others.
These companies are using Twitter to find out more about their customers as a kind of Web 2.0 cam. To keep twittering it would seem that Twitter itself would not look into monetizing but maybe expanding the 140 word What are you doing? Twitter is on the path of world domination like Google. Twitter is an unlikely comparison to Google as the former is a social media and Google is a search Engine.
Twitter has been sucessful in having people follow you with an email as a sign to let you know that maybe they concurred with what you were doing on the 140 word What are you Doing question. The emails received so far have not addressed the many blog updates that have been sent to Twitter to increase Hub Traffic. But who needs a big airplane like JetBlue or a huge billionaire owning shoe company like Zappos to follow you. One would immediately surmise that these companies are looking to learn your habits and more about you.
If you are in the business of writing, I do not see the benefit of having these huge companies follow ing you on Twitter. At first it was quite impressive to get an email from Twitter that JetBlue and Zappos were following me. I almost felt like those top General Motors Executives who had flown in to discuss their $17 billion bailout plan with President Barack Obama and his administration. However, when I checked my Google earnings that is connected with HubPages with over 22,000 viewers, I received a rude wake up call of having only about $89.00 on the Google account.I came down to earth quickly and realized that the only way that I was to be connected with JetBlue was with a plane ticket that frankly with the Google earnings was out of the question.
Back on earth and off of the Twitter ride with the big companies that did not monetize my HubPages but populated my already cluttered email inbox with "Tweets" I decided to monetize more realistically with what was available to me which is the HubPages Stats. A good rule of thumb is to check the stats on the edit page of each of your content entries. If the stats show that Google, Yahoo and Digg is gaining the most readership then that is where you are going to want to promote your writings. The readership on HubPages is fresh for monetizing without Twitter though it pales in comparison to the huge following of millions at Twitter.
But if Twitter is just going to send you a email of who is following you instead of having you to post your content in the chat room of which I have yet to find, then all you are doing is cluttering up your email. The best thing to do with Twitter is to use it for its purpose and that is intended and to find out what others are doing in the Twitter network if you are interested.
Twitter was on Good Morning America television program today because a weary traveler did not have a place to stay. He said with millions of strangers on Twitter (stranger was the word he used to describe the twitters) that he was able to get a place to stay until his next flight or layover. Twitter works excellent as a social media. The weary traveler was able to find a Twitter to help him with his situation. But as a conduit to driving Hub traffic for monetization, Twitter has a long way to go.
That is why it is important to use the different gadgets and widgets on the internet for their intended uses. If you are looking to increase your SEO or search engine optimization, then you would look at your search engines like Google and Yahoo rather than Twitter. If you need a place to stay and need to connect with "strangers of millions" than you would connect with Twitter. If you are looking to monetize your Hub Pages then use the tools that Hub Pages gives you which is Google Adsense, Konetera, Amazon, and Ebay.

agvulpes, thank you for your comment.
Interesting Humb lindagoffigan. Thanks for the info about Twitter. I have never ventured into the Twitting world but I can see it may have some advantages. I do love adsense and the others you mentioned. Kind of "old fashioned" but seem to be solid stalwarts in the field of monetizing webs sites and pages.
tdarby, thank you for your comment. As a part of the Hubpage challenge, 100 hubs in 30 days, look for another hub on Twitter that is a little more detailed with more research. What did you find "old fashioned" just out of curiosity?
Thanks for sharing the information with us about marketing and about twitter.
