Money Management Tips are everywhere. A person can just ask someone and get tips but the real key is finding the correct tips. To be truthful each person has to decide. By educating oneself on the subject and gathering ideas and input one can come up with a plan that would fit your lifestyle and make money management a success. Money our money is a means to an end. We have to learn to live within our means so that we can accomplish the long term goal. What is wealth to one person may not be wealth to you. So a person has to decide what is best for them.

Some of the things you need to consider: what my basic needs are going to cost and budget accordingly. This planning starts today however as changes to cost of good increase we need to factor that in our plan. One of the hardest things to do is live with in our means. There is always something out there we want. But that is the secret. Is it a want or a need? Determining that will help us to maintain our budget.

Another area we can do is a treasure hunt. What do I mean? Well look for the loose change lying around. Under the couch, the pillows, the floor in the corner find the extra change from shopping. One would be surprised at how that can add up. Example: when my son was still living at home we had moved to NM and right after the move funds were tight. We lived off the loose change he had gather and saved in a tin can. It was over $400. We put all of our extra loose change in a plastic container. I have had to dip into it and it amazes me how much is in there.

The next hardest thing is to set aside an emergency fund. First you want to set amount in your checking to leave so you don’t get an OOPSS. Then set up a savings account for those unexpected things that seem to hit us all.

You may need to take to a professional a financial planner or a tax professional, even your banker and ask for budgeting help. Don’t be afraid to seek advice. They are trained to help educating families on their personal management growth. We all have to learn just make a plan that you can stick with and STICK your Budget.

My husband just took some change to the bank...it totaled $102 , that was a nice surprise. We didn't even have that accounted for!

Sherry. I'm so glad you wrote this article. I'm having a great time trying to budget better. Someone actually saved up their spare change all year and gave it to us for Christmas anonymously this year. I was so impressed. I'm glad I joined your fan club because I got the announcement that you had written a new article right in my e-mail. Keep up the good work.

Hi Sherry. It's my belief that any money that comes out in the laundry belongs to the laundry doer. It helps to motivate kids to do their own. A freshly washed dollar bill spends just as well as a grubby one.

So true, it would be great to teach them how to make that one dollar turn into more tho and help them gain a better value for it. Losing it is one way but watching it grow helps also.
