I started my website as a small website I used to do to spend my free time. It was also helping other people as I was providing free information on it. With the growth of the website I did not have enough free time. Also I needed more revenue for my personal needs. So I thought of using my free time to generate revenue through Google ads in the site.

I went on building my site with great enthusiasm. I put my 100% effort and the site started coming up in Google. I was not having enough time because of the effort I was putting into the site, but I always had the hope that some day it is going to give me lots of money.... at least enough money to quit my day job and make this full time work.

As years went by I required more sacrifices. I cut my time out of my personal life, social life, family, etc. with the hope that I could set everything right once I got plenty of money. My site went to be the top site in its category on the entire Google above over 250,000 sites but still I was getting peanuts in terms of Adsense revenue.

I still had hope until a few days back when I realized the problem....... It was the keyword ! Google ads were placed by people through Google Adwords. Each keyword had a value that advertiser would pay Google. Only a part of the money that Google got is giving to us. The problem was that the keyword my website had was very very low paying. The result was advertiser paid less to Google and Google paid me a part of it, which obviously was even less.

So in spite of taking the No.1 spot on Google search engine and all other search engines in its category out of 250,000 sites and having had more than 2 lakh hits, it took me 5 long years to realize that if ones' keyword is not high paying...... even the best of everything else is not going to pay nothing more than peanuts.......

So the lesson for everyone is choose the right "KEYWORD."
