Monster Trucks RC Hobby

The Monster Trucks RC hobby can be fun, inexpensive and a great way to spend time with family!

My family really enjoys playing with our Monster Trucks RC vehicles, and get a kick out of making them do tricks and jumps that we can only dream of doing in a real car. It is loads of fun jumping, poping wheelies, mud running, bogging, rock climbing and of course racing. The learning curve is very fast, and you can be doing cool stuff after only a couple of days playing.

The hobby of Monster Trucks RC can be low in price to high in price depending on experience and level of committment to the hobby of Monster Trucks RC's. I tend to stay in the mid range price, as the lower end toys do not seem to hold up to what I put them through. On the other hand, I also do not compete or race these at big events. My monster trucks rc hobby is just that, a hobby.

This little monster trucks rc hobby has really provided a bonding experience for my family and I. The kids really enjoy racing their parents (and beating them!), as well as showing off their abilities to do tricks. We keep it low key, and all five of us really seem to enjoy the company of one another.

This is a really great hobby, and I recommend that you check it out. I will add more articles and ideas on how to start as time permits. Meanwhile, checkout some of the links around this page!

  • Monster Trucks RC Drive Configurations

There are main two types of drive configurations for Monster Trucks RC vehicles: 2wd (two wheel drive) and 4wd (four wheel drive). Inexperienced hobbyists should probably start with a 2wd model before moving on to 4wd vehicles. 2wd models are much easier to maintain while needing only limited assembly. These Monster Trucks RC vehicles also have [...] - 9 months ago

  • Nitro Monster Trucks RC

Monster Trucks RC vehicles are powered by either an electric motor or a fuel-powered engine. Non-electric radio controlled Monster Trucks glow engines use a methanol-based fuel that contains nitromethane so the term nitro or nitromethanol refers to this type of Monster Trucks RC and to the fuel they use. What in the Heck is this [...] - 9 months ago

  • Monster Trucks RC – More Checking!

The SCREWS! Check the entire vehicle for any loose nuts or bolts because, during shipping, some of the bolts may come unfastened. These lose parts will greatly effect the Monster Trucks RC’s performance so make sure you gently tighten anything that may be loose. Many hobbyists think that their vehicles are broken when [...] - 9 months ago

Buy a used Monster Trucks RC?

I think it is a bad idea to buy a used monster trucks rc! I had a very bad experience going this route through Craig's list. It turned out that the truck had been severely damaged and was put back together with super glue. The guy I bought the truck from must really have been cringing when I put the truck through some havoc prior to purchase. Well, that was the final session it held through, as when I got home and ran it again...it fell apart.

I ran across an article by Sylvain Lafrance about how to choose the right Monster Trucks RCvehicle for you. One of the first things that jumped out at me was the statement:

"If this is your first Monster Trucks RC vehicle, buy it NEW. You don't need other people's problems."

Good advice. There is nothing wrong with buying used Monster Trucks RC’s. I do it myself. But when buying your first Monster Trucks RC -- especially a hobby-grade RC and if you have little or no mechanical or electronics experience -- you generally are better off starting with a brand new Monster Trucks RC right out of the box.
