As the name indicates Moonstone is representation of the Moon. This is a semiprecious stone normally found as a translucent creamy white stone with a glow like that of the Moon. This gemstones in fact comes in a variety of colors, with Clarity ranging from transparent to translucent. It is also found with a bluish or yellowish tint or colors ranging from colorless to white, gray, brown, orange, green, or pink. The blue colored is considered the most precious among all. Moonstone is considered a feminine stone and has been associated with fertility and childbearing from ancient times. This gem is said to help women with menstrual pains and for easy child birth. This stone is also used as a decoration stone on garments by Arab women as a sign of fertility. However, classifying this stone as feminine would actually be wrong because this is a stone associated with the mind or emotions. Wearing this stone is said to bring ones feelings under control under all conditions. It also helps to soothe stress and anxiety. Moonstone vibrates well with the number 4. This gem is also referred to as ‘Rainbow Moonstone’ because it will pick up the colors you wear. This stone is considered as a sacred stone by Indians and believed to bring in good fortune.
