Learning Cloud Meditation

Cloud meditation is simple to learn and very beneficial to the mind, body and spirit. Simply focusing on clouds seems to float away all that tension. It is simply relaxing your mind and your body and letting go. There are no secrets to basic meditation although more advanced techniques can be learned.

If you can't get outside to watch the sky it can be useful to have a series of good photographs to work with. There are a couple of really good ones included below which can give you a start, but different clouds resonate with different moods. You might like to pick a sky that suits you, or use these photographs in the slide show provided below and set them to music. This is really relaxing.

Taking It A Step Further

Why not gather together your own collection of cloud photographs so that you have them to meditate on day, or night, no matter where you are?

If you want to take this a step further make your mind a blank (as far as you are able), and allow cloud shapes to move in and out of you mind's eye. You will find that thoughts and ideas, emotions and sensations come in and out too. If you have a particular problem, voice it and then let it go. This method accesses the sub conscious, the place where all the answers lie.

Don't expect immediate results but with practise you will be able to solve many of the dilemmas and problems that run around in your mind.

It is sometimes quite amazing how much the mind clears after a short meditation session.

Thanks for the comments. I could meditate all day too! Chance would be a fine thing though.
