The North American Union: A Three Course Meal

Recent times have been a bit hectic. Quite a bit of drama taking place, wouldn’t you agree? The campaigns, the election, the economy, the auto industry, global climate change, the slaughter, madness and mayhem. This misinformation overload succeeded in pushing something I had been watching, with great interest, to the back of my mind.

A few years ago I became aware of some behind-the-scenes activity that was going on involving the US, Canada and Mexico. Seems there’s this little secret “merger” in the works that isn’t being talked about very much in the media beyond a few torpid attempts to deny its existence. As we all know by now, things that aren’t given much attention in the MSM, especially those that are mentioned only for the purpose of being “debunked”, are usually the most important bits of information out there. Unfortunately, if information of this nature comes to your attention and you subsequently make mention of it, you will probably find yourself branded a “conspiracy theorist”. I’ve never let that stop me before and see no reason to change now.

This little endeavor was seriously initiated in 2004 by the Canadian Council of Chief Executives (CCCE). It was known initially as the North American Security and Prosperity Initiativeand was “announced” in June of 2005. Some people maintain that it actually goes back to 1921 with the founding of the Council on Foreign Relations.

1921: The Council on Foreign Relations is founded by Edward Mandell House, who had been the chief advisor of President Woodrow Wilson.”

The CCCE is an exclusive club of more than 150 capitalist CEOs from corporations of both Canadian and American origin.

“Among the 150 corporate members of the Canadian Council of CEOs, along side large Canadian banks and corporations, one finds many leading American corporations that have branches or subsidiaries in Canada, such as du Pont, Fed X, General Electric, General Motors, Chrysler, Hewlett-Packard, Home Depot, IBM, Imperial Oil, Kodak, 3M, Microsoft, Pratt & Whitney, Suncor, Wyeth, Xerox, etc. —These CEOs do not really see Canada as a country separate from the United States, but more as an adjacent market to be occupied and controlled.”

As originally envisioned, in January of 2003, by this profit seeking group the plan was to be based on five main objectives.

1- The Reinvention of Canada-U.S.-Mexico borders; (eradicate them)

2- The Maximization of regulatory efficiencies; (eliminate regulations)

3- The negotiation of a comprehensive continental resource security pact; (secure corporate ownership of all resources)

4- The negotiation of a North American defense alliance; (controlled by U.S. political-military-industrial complex)

5- And the creation of a new institutional framework for this new North American Union. (assimilation of Canada into the neo-conservative vision of a "Fortress North America")

(Parenthetical comments added)

Once the neocons got hold of it however it began to undergo a not altogether surprising transformation, per the parentheses above. It became the Security and Prosperity Partnership Of North America, which eventually morphed into the North American Union. It has also been referred to as the Deep Integration Project.

What this would all amount to in the end, if it were real and not the product of my fevered, paranoid imagination, is actually something not unlike the Soviet Union. Evidently the plan includes the dissolution of the borders between Canada, the US and Mexico, a massive continental transport highway system, the NAFTA Corridor, the utilization of RFID chips in everything, including people, and the creation of a new currency to be designated the Amero.

It appears this arrangement is also intended to make Washington the seat of power for the entire North American continent with unrestrained access to, and control of, all the resources of the hitherto sovereign nations of Mexico and Canada.

“Mr. Harper has been apparently directed by the principal funders of the Conservative Party of Canada, which are ideologically linked to the CFR, to assimilate Canada into a new "Fortress North America" which is controlled by the U.S. political-military-industrial complex by no later than 2010.”

I suspect Central and South America will be less than ecstatic over such an arrangement.

It sounds, to me, a lot like Moscow and the Eastern Bloc. It comes as no real surprise that quite a few people, especially in Canada, are not particularly thrilled at the prospect of their nation becoming a US colony.

What with all the excitement and insanity that’s been going on lately I let this little “conspiracy theory” fall off my radar. With the most recent developments in the economy however, I began wondering what it will be like when, in the very near future, the dollar is completely devalued and the US economy collapses utterly and irretrievably. Pondering the death of the dollar brought to mind the amero, which jarred my memory and got me thinking about the NAU again. Going back over some of my earlier research, I’ve written about the NAU before, and getting up to date with some newer information, I began to wonder if recent events have been timed to coincide with, a: the election of Barack Obama and, b: the unveiling of “New America”.

Is it purely coincidence and/or convenience that the first foreign relations trip that Obama will be taking as the new president will be to meet with Harper in Canada?

Is there any significance, beyond the supposed “tradition”, to the fact that the first meeting with a foreign leader for Mr. Obama was with Mexican president Calderon?

Could the mission of the Obama administration be to complete the transformation that acquired real momentum with the Bush cabal? Like Clinton completing the Reagan NAFTA abomination, is it up to Obama to finalize the formation and rollout of the North American Union? Does the construction of the NAFTA corridor figure into the much ballyhooed Obama “infrastructure plan”? Will the millions of new jobs being promised pay the workers in ameros? Will the “Change We Can Believe In” be an introduction to a whole new era of continued free market insanity with fascist capitalism replacing the faux communism of the USSR as the scourge of humanity?

· How timely for the failed dollar to be replaced with the amero at the eleventh hour.

· How convenient to have unlimited access to the water, timber and energy resources of Canada at this crucial juncture.

· What an elegant way to solve the “illegal immigrant” problem by simply declaring that it’s just not immigration on any kind since Mexico and America are one and the same.

· Imagine how much more “competitive” US workers will have to be once there are utterly no restrictions on cheap labor from what was formerly Mexico. It could signal the return of manufacturing to the erstwhile United States.

· If memory serves, Mexico has a bit of oil as well.

· How much simpler to facilitate the movement of illegal drugs and other contraband, that supply our major financial institutions with billions in revenue every year, if there are massive, unrestricted transport corridors connecting the three formerly sovereign nations.

"…incalculably increases the opportunities for smugglers (of drugs, illegal aliens, terrorists, weapons of mass destruction, and other contraband) to enter the country."

· It will certainly be a lot easier to force for-profit Health Insurance on the permanently expatriated Canadians, which their government has been trying to do for several years now, if they are suddenly bound by the laws and regulations of Washington rather than those of Canada.

I wonder if there could be even the slightest chance…

No, no. It’s just too ridiculous!

The New World Order is more than just a random phrase uttered by George H.W. Bush coincidentally.

Food for thought.

There is a lot of food for thought. Even if we have a common currency like Amero even then we won't have a common boundary with the central power based in US (Just my humble opinion). Good job and I will have to research this further.

Thanks countrywomen. It's a very interesting can of worms. Did the Soviet Union really have a common boundary with all the eastern block countries? I guess it just depends on whose point of view is used.

Wow, Lots of information here. You've really done a good job on putting this all together.

I will look over the links--I used to watch Lou Dobbs, but he gradually lost me over a number of issues, not the least of which was his resistance to organizing the Smithfield meat packing plant just because many of the workers were illegal immigrants. Anyone who knows even a little bit about how labor unions  got started in this country knows you have to include EVERYONE--you have to, or the company will just 'divide and conquer'--and besides, if illegals make the same (good) wages as locals due to a strong union, then there's no reason to hire them. Problem solved.

I think it's a complicated issue and Bush is leaving. Yay. I'm going to give the new guy a chance. Great hub.

CWB

What an astonishing premise! The last thing the world needs is a bigger USA. Bigger is seldom better. It is just more generalised government painting with a broader brush and missing all the detail. There's more room for corruption, more room for mistakes, and it gives the President far more power than any one man is big enough to wield. Let's hope and pray that this never comes to pass.

Hi CWB!

First of all...the amount of investigation behind this hub is staggering!  You certainly researched this topic.

About the content itself, I find myself a bit open mouthed at this scheme.  What Amanda said about a bigger USA I find myself nodding at.  Maybe it's a bit of a blindsided Euro perspective, considering that we do have the European Union here, and the same currency in many countries.  geez, it's food for though for sure.  Very apt title!

Hi pgrundy.

Lot’s of info is a good thing IMHO. A further indicator, for me, is that for every one article I’ve read calling this another silly “conspiracy theory” there are ten, loaded with facts, figures, names, dates and places that point to it being anything but.

I don’t know a whole lot about Dobbs myself. This just came up in my research and seemed relevant.

Unions are an iffy proposition. Like anything else, as long as the people in charge are on the up and up it can be a great success. In a better world, populated by people who were actually civilized, unions would be irrelevant.

Complicated it is indeed. It’s the nature of the beast. As far as giving the big O a chance, what choice do we have? I will wait, watch and speak about what I see when I feel it’s warranted.

Thanks for your consistent input Pam. I always look forward to your analysis of my analysis.

Hi Amanda.

Sorry to say this is a bit more than a premise. It is a very real and ongoing process. How far it will go is anyone’s guess. Suffice it to say that the three principals in this little marriage made in hell met last August, if memory serves, to sign the documents sealing the deal.

The whole thing was conceived and motivated by mega-corporations for the purpose of consolidating control over the resources of the entire continent. If they actually manage to make this happen I expect they’ll set their sights on Central and, especially, South America. As I mentioned in the essay, it seems very reminiscent of the Soviet Union swallowing up all the surrounding nations of the eastern bloc.

Thanks for reading and commenting Amanda. I share your hope.

Seems as if, for a change, we might be on the same page. My only argument with your comment is the use of the word worrisome. Seems like a bit of an understatement to me.

Thank you for reading and offering your thoughts.

Hi to you Elena!

Staggering is certainly an apt adjective to apply to this information. It is somewhat mind-boggling without doubt. However, knowing what we do about the motives and objectives of capitalism, PNAC and those who lust for the “New World Order”, it’s not really all that hard to accept the reality of it.

The EU, until fairly recently, seemed a bit more left-leaning than what’s being pursued here. As I indicated, it seems much more reminiscent of Soviet Russia to me.

Thanks for reading. I appreciate your feedback.

I find it startling you brought this up right now. I was just thinking about it myself, though something else jarred my mind.

It was watching those commericals about buying the Obama coins. You know the ones with his picture on them...

Well then I got to thinking (and I know you are not a Bible conspirator) but I am! Anyways, so I started to think about Caesar and the story about who the money belongs to etc.

Which got me thinking about how "timely" everything seemed have fallen into place. And this hub is great food for thought. I oftern wonder if Palin was just used because she was so obviously, not a good choice and a huge distraction and I wondered why McCain would chose her yet they rarely agreed on anything?

I remember back int 2005 watching the news about the Amero. It gave me goose bumbs and it still does. I was talking to a Canadain resident about NWO or NAU, she said they their "Queen or whatever" would never do any such thing.

I think but don't know because i haven't looked at all the links yet, but I think that the construction of the super highway (forget I 5) had already begun and I think they started the construction a couple years ago.

Anyways, a lot to process.

ColdWarBaby profile image

ColdWarBaby  says:

Hi sandra.

It's funny you should mention your thoughts about Palin because I honestly considered that myself. Choosing her as a running mate seemed so obviously absurd that sabotage could be the only explanation.

As you’ll see when you check the links, you’re correct about construction already being underway. The thing is, they’ve been so secretive about this that, once people realize what’s happening, it will be too late to do anything about it.

I don’t really object to countries joining together in common cause, as long as it’s a cause for the common good. I actually think globalization is a wonderful concept as long as it’s for the good of all humanity, not just a few ravenous capitalists and the advancement of “free market” capitalism is what this is all about.

Thanks for reading sandra. Your comments are appreciated.

Another good hub,

I think the capitalist have to move to a unified currency in order to stay on top of the world and keep the status quo.

They took us into Iraq to make the message loud and clear that oil would not be priced in EURO's. That was easily Saddam Hussein's biggest crime in the eyes of Bush.

As long as the EU continues to strengthen and threaten to take pricing of more commodities, the Capitilist on this Continent will begin to lose their strangle hold on the world.

I think they see this union as the quickest easiest fix to ensure the money stays here. By that I mean in their bank accounts and not some rich Europeans bank account. At no point will it be in our bank accounts.

You could follow this trail for days and you’d just be getting started. Just keep this in mind; I’ve done a LOT of research on this and for every one article that calls the whole thing a load of crap there are a good ten or fifteen full of names, dates, places and facts that prove it’s anything but.

Glad you stopped in and thanks for your comment.

Thanks TMG.

I think you’ve got a pretty good handle on it. It’s all about the currency and who controls it globally.

You’re absolutely correct about the late Mr. Hussein.

I just wonder about the countries that own all the amerikan national debt. I wonder what they’ll do when they’re informed that the dollar doesn’t exist any more. Will they accept the conversion to the amero? What will the conversion rate be? Will the u.s. declare bankruptcy, rendering the national debt null and void before announcing the completion of the merger and the demise of the United States?

All kinds of fun stuff to think about.

I appreciate the read and the comments TMG. Thanks again.

Eovery, the people of Canada and Mexico have no more to gain from this than the citizens of America; that is to say nothing. In fact, in the long term, this would greatly exacerbate the already deteriorating condition of the American middle class and force the same upon the Canadians. It’s the fascist corporatists and their political lapdogs that profit, profit being the operative word.

See the comment above posted by TheMoneyGuy. It’s a fair synopsis. Did Moscow swallow the countries of the eastern bloc for the benefit of their populations? This isn’t about gain for anyone but an elite capitalist group and a few politicians who are on their payroll.

ColdWarBaby profile image

Greetings CJ. Glad to see you.

There are so many parts in the equation now that the possible outcomes are manifold. I’m now convinced that the overriding factor will be global climate change. All the power of military and science and all the wealth of the capitalist empire are dwarfed and rendered impotent by the overwhelming forces of nature. We have seen this even in modern times and the disasters we have witnessed historically will be insignificant in comparison with those the future almost certainly holds.

So, I suppose, whatever way the course of human events unfolds will be largely irrelevant. The human race is about to become flotsam in a flood of “natural disasters” that will change history and the face of Earth utterly.

I too am cautiously optimistic that when the dust finally clears there will be a new beginning for the human family.

Thanks for reading. Thanks for commenting. Thanks for thinking and offering those thoughts.

CWB,

I think the countries that own our debt are the very reason the government is pushing this agenda for the Capitalist. The Politicians are being sold this on the angle that having the resources of Canada and Mexico backing the currency will make these other countries less likely to press for concessions on the political side.

The reality is the Banks that back the foreign governments are the same ones backing us so they care not either way as long as someone is paying taxes to some one in this world and that someone is making their interest payments on time.

This is the sad fact, even if our politicians are trying to do what is right they are still being played into the hands of those that control the money supply.

Currency mergers are huge to the bank in terms of profit. It cleans up your accounting and allows you to lay off large numbers employees under the auspices of consolidating your business in order to make it more efficient.

eovery, don’t be patronizing, it’s rude; especially since I’m probably old enough to be your father. I’m about as chilled as I’m ever likely to get.

You may not see a way out but that‘s not to say one doesn’t exist. Fact is if we don’t find our own way, evolution or nature if you prefer, will take care of it for us.

People have become so arrogant, so anthropocentric, that they assume they are immune to the powers of nature. Ask the people who live in the Hawaiian Islands about that. Go back a bit and ask the mighty Romans who inhabited Pompeii. Go back a bit more and ask that T-Rex about the asteroid that he watched streaking across the sky sixty five million years ago. Come back up to the late nineteenth century and talk to the shades of those who inhabited the Island of Krakatau.

People are smart eovery but not very quick at adapting to physical changes in their given environment. They are too physiologically complex to make rapid evolutionary adjustments. That’s one of the things that made it so easy for the Europeans to commit the genocide of the Indians of the Americas. To further exacerbate this evolutionary shortcoming we have spent the last several millennia “customizing” the planet to satisfy our desires. This has caused our adaptability to atrophy even further.

Simply put, people need to stop “competing” for useless material possessions and “wealth” quite soon. We must begin cooperating and applying our pooled intelligence and skills to the problem of survival of the species.

We are really the only animal on the planet with the capacity to control its own destiny. Seems like we’re opting for mass suicide.

Anyway, thanks for continuing to read. I’m not saying you have to buy into my perspective. It will be enough if you are willing to look toward a more distant horizon.

Howdy, CWB.

Very worrying - MakeMoney Mike wrote a Hub about this, and it seems that the Canadians are very worried. The Queen would be unlikely to allow it, but Canada could quite easily deide to become a republic. Keep fighting this.

I had an interesting chat with one of my Greek friends the other day - he owns a gas station and keeps his ear to the ground about oil markets. This is hearsay, but interesting. Every country has to carry a 90 day reserve of oil. The US sold their reserve when the prices were $140 per barrel, and are now replenishing them at $40 per barrel. $100 profit per barrel adds up to quite a sum. Not sure if you have any info about this one.

South America - I had to write a long paper about Chavez recently. Latin America seems to have had enough of US interference.

Greetings Sufidreamer.

That amerika is manipulating oil prices and profiting from it is a given. We've been doing it for decades.

The Central/South America situation is something I think is going to become a growing issue especially if this NAU monstrosity becomes a reality. The elite want to personally own all the resources of Earth. The leftward tilt of nations to the south is unacceptable to them.

This is all tied up very neatly by the global insolvency that has been intentionally orchestrated by the fascist corporatocracy.

I was for some time concerned about the Bush cabal declaring martial law and cancelling the election. With conditions as they have been manipulated I'm now just as concerned that Obama may ultimately be tasked by his masters to carry on with the plan.
