Even more dancing styles....
Part two of the dancing style series. Gah. Dancing is just so fun, especially for hyperactive people like me. Whether you want to find a fun hobby, lose weight, or feel better about yourself (really), try dancing.
Joining a dance class is beneficial because you have others who are struggling with the moves just like you. Having that bond, while having fun is a great experience. Okay, our next batch of dance styles!
Different Dance Styles
Breakdancing: Akin to urban dancing, breakdancing is a physically intensive dance that requires a lot of upperbody and arm strength. A lot of the manuevers require one to be on the floor. Moves like the freeze, where one is upright supported only by one arm require keen dexterity and strength. The head, arms, and upper body are the body parts one must use the most.
Cheerleading: Believe it or not, cheerleading IS a dance. Cheerleading is a dance used to boost the morale of the team they're supporting. The movements are bold, and the stances are held for a few seconds during a move. It is custom to also shout out cheers while doing dances. Urban dancing is popularly fused with cheerleading especially college leveld cheerleading.
Conga: The Conga is a party dance. It DOESN'T require hard training or practice, but it's stil very fun, especially with a bunch of people during a party. Here, I'll teach you this fun dance now. You and your friends form a long procession, one after another. It's three shuffles then a kick on the fourth beat.
Clogging: Clogging is similar to tapdancing. So similar because tapdancing is actually derived from clogging. In clogging, one wears clogging shoes made of four taps. Two in the front, and two in the back. Cloggers dance stamping their feet on the floor to the beat of music.
Disco: Take out those old bellbottoms and hit the dancefloor. Disco is a popular dance associated with pop music. Disco's music stems from soul, and dance beats derived from Philly. This dance is great to do with friends. In disco, hand, and feet movements are it's foundation, There are some head shakes, but no heavy upper body movement.
