I'm in the middle of a fascinating new book called "Wikinomics" which describes how the principles of open sourcing, peer production, bottom up processes, internet collaboration, ideagoras, and open innovation are being applied more and more in science and technology, business, R&D and changing the landscape of business, media, science, medicine in significant ways.

Highly recommended reading.
