The question is what is the difference between Mormonism and Christianity. We must first look to the question of who is Jesus?
First we will take a look at the Mormon version. Bruce McConkie, a Mormon Apostle, teaches in his book, Mormon Doctrine, "Christ was begotten by an immortal father in the same way that mortal men are begotten by mortal fathers." And again this view. Joseph Fielding Smith, tenth President and Prophet of the Mormon Church claimed, "Christ not begotten of Holy Ghost...He was not born without the aid of Man and that Man was God!" (Doctrines of Salvation, 1:18). 18Now the birth of Jesus Christ was on this wise: When as his mother Mary was espoused to Joseph, before they came together, she was found with child of the Holy Ghost. (Matthew 1:18) Oops!
Then again we have. ilton R. Hunter, who was a member of the First Council of the Seventies writes in his book, The Gospel Through the Ages, "The appointment of Jesus to be the Savior of the world was contested by one of the other sons of God. He was called, Lucifer, son of the morning. Haughty, ambitious, and covetous of power and glory, this spirit-brother of Jesus desperately tried to become the Savior of mankind." (page 15) - Wow the brother of Lucifer, I must have missed that in the bible - where is that?
The early disciples knew by the power of the Holy Spirit the false religions would rise and left these warnings. But I fear, lest any means, as the serpent beguiled Eve through his subtlety, so your minds should be corrupted from the simplicity that is in Christ. for if he that preacheth another Jesus, whom we have not preached, or if we receive another spirit, which ye have not received, or another gospel, which ye have not accepted, ye might well bear with him. II Corinthians 11:3,4 and again in Galatians, this one I have always liked -6I marvel that ye are so soon removed from him that called you into the grace of Christ unto another gospel:7Which is not another; but there be some that trouble you, and would pervert the gospel of Christ.8But though we, or an angel from heaven, preach any other gospel unto you than that which we have preached unto you, let him be accursed.9As we said before, so say I now again, if any man preach any other gospel unto you than that ye have received, let him be accursed.
I guess Joseph Smith never read that part of the bible. We shall what other comparisons we can find.

The reason seems even more immediate now that we see in the news the atrocious behaviour of the YFZ polygamists, the exploitation of young girls and boys under the disguise of the Mormon religion.
This all stems from the founding fathers and the teachings of Joseph Smith. The entrance into the celestial kingdom for women is based upon the teachings in the book of Mormon Doctrine: God the Father has a wife, through whom he procreates spirit children.
"Implicit in the Christian verity that all men are the spirit children of an Eternal Father is the usually unspoken truth that they are also the offspring of an Eternal Mother. An exalted and glorified Man of Holiness (Moses 6:57) could not be a Father unless a Woman of like glory, perfection, and holiness was associated with him as a Mother" (Mormon Doctrine, 1977 ed., p. 516). This concept being supported I believe in the idea supported by Joseph Smith, that at one time a young girl asked prophet Smith, "where do we come from". At which prophet Smith pointed to a star a little left of the north star and informed the girl - that planet Kolob, 9 And thus there shall be the reckoning of the time of one aplanet above another, until thou come nigh unto Kolob, which Kolob is after the reckoning of the Lord’s time; which Kolob is set nigh unto the throne of God, to govern all those planets which belong to the same border as that upon which thou standest. Where spiritual children are awaiting bodies to which the ability to become true saints. By the fact that the Mormons believe in a eternal mother, producing spiritual children reminds me of the image of 'Aliens', in which we see a giant insect laying eggs by the billions which will become little 'devils' to bring destruction to all.
The other idea, although very sad is that the man has a kinda dominion over the women. By which the women are subjected to the man's whims, of course some truely love their wives. But the whole teaching, indoctrination of the anti-Christ teaching that the man is the one which provides the way into the celestial kindom. The man being the only one who can enter the priesthood (that's another topic) Not at all like the Bible's teaching of equal value, as Adam's rib becoming the woman -equal, side by side.
As in Doctrines and Covenants 25:14,15 - 14 Continue in the spirit of meekness, and beware of pride. Let thy soul delight in thy bhusband, and the glory which shall come upon him - to which the wife will hopefully be covered by the husband when the time of entering the 'clestial heaven'(the highest heaven of the Mormons).D&C 131:1-2: 1 In the celestial glory there are three heavens or degrees; 2 And in order to obtain the highest, a man must enter into this border of the priesthood [meaning the new and deverlasting covenant of marriage]; D&C 88: 20 That bodies who are of the celestial kingdom may possess it forever and ever; for, for this intent was it made and created, and for this intent are they sanctified. The hope of entering this relm weighs heavy upon the women since they are unable to enter into the celestial heaven on their own (unlike True Christianity - where all people are judged upon their acceptance or rejection of Jesus Christ). And then in 15: 15 Keep my commandments continually, and a crownof righteousness thou shalt receive. And except thou do this, where I am you cannot come, (the latter here a quote of Jesus about his death on the cross and His entrance into hell).
With so much value being put upon the Mormon man that the women need to submit to the man and his teaching, leadership and as we see explotation of the women, and now even children. Some being pregnate at the age of 13, as reported in the Star-Telegram on 4/19/2008 -A girl as young as 13 may have given birth at a polygamous sect's compound, a child welfare worker testified Thursday night at a marathon custody hearing for 416 children removed from the ranch. The idiology of Mormon teaching which these people are believing is the basis of the Mormon doctrine as aspoused by the prophet Joseph Smith in the order of producing more bodies for the spiritual children exisiting on the planet Kolob. Hey every body has to have some where to go.
So many of the Mormon people I have met are very taken by the doctirne, little do they know the originator of this doctrine isn't Joseph Smith, but by Satan - who comes as an angel of light, the same which visited poor guilible Joseph in the woods. Only by having the True Spirit of God the Holy Spirit of the Bible can one be accepted by the True God and entrance into the New Jerusalem.

Some three girls met me and two other of my friends and started sharing this mormon stuff. This is really shit. According to them, there is only one prophet God has called on earth through whom he speaks and that is Thomas S. Monson. Have never heard of a stuff like that. The Godhead consists of three distinct personages who are one in unity and purpose. The members of the Godhead are Heavenly Father, Jesus Christ and the Holy Ghost. All human beings consist of two fundamental parts, the body and the spirit, and these two parts together comprise the soul. Heavenly Father and Jesus Christ have bodies of flesh and spirit. The Holy Ghost does not have a body of flesh, he is only a personage of spirit. The spirits of all human beings were created by God the Father before the earth was created. Before the world was created, God the Father, created the spirit of Jesus Christ. Heavenly Father is the father of his spirit and the father of our spirits. Under the direction of God the Father, Jesus Christ created the earth and Adam and Eve. He put their spirits into their bodies of flesh and they became living souls. When we were born, our spirit entered into our body and we became a living soul. When we die, our spirit leaves our body and our body is buried in the earth until the resurrection, when our body and our spirit will be reunited. The prophet Alma, described the conception of Jesus Christ in Alma 7:10 of the Book of Mormon "And behold, he shall be born of Mary, at Jerusalem which is the land of our forefathers, she being a virgin, a precious and chosen vessel, who shall be overshadowed and conceive by the power of the Holy Ghost, and bring forth a son, yea, even the Son of God."
Alma, Joseph Fielding Smith, Bruce R. McConkie, and Matthew actually do not contradict each other concerning the birth of Jesus Christ. No man or woman can be in the presence of God unless he is "quickened by the Spirit" (See various Bible references and the Doctrine & Covenants 67:11-12) This means that in order to endure the presence of God, any man or woman would need to be sanctified and purified by the Holy Ghost, therefore the Holy Ghost is the agent or the "power" by which Mary was able to endure the presence of God the Father who has characteristics of a man because he has a body and a spirit, so that she could conceive the only begotten Son of God. In other words. Since God the Father has a body of flesh and spirit, and Mary has a body of flesh and spirit, they were able to conceive the one and only Son of God, even Jesus Christ.
These are the teachings of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, also known as the Mormons. We believe in God, the Eternal Father, and in his Son, Jesus Christ, and in the Holy Ghost.
Nobody else has chimed in so I thought it would be helpful to shed some light on the references that you have made to Mormon doctrine concerning women. You quoted Doctrine & Covenants 25:14,15 - 14 and implied that our doctrine is oppressive to women. I submit that the Mormon doctrine is anything but oppressive to women. There are polygamists (who are not members of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints) whose behaviour is very oppressive to women, but these are not members of the LDS church, and cannot be members of the LDS church because they are practicing polygamy. To say that the scriptures in Doctrine & Covenants is oppressive toward women would imply that the writings of Paul the Apostle to the Ephesians is also oppressive toward women: 22 aWives, bsubmit yourselves unto your own husbands, as unto the Lord. 23 For the ahusband is the head of the wife, even as Christ is the bhead of the cchurch: and he is the saviour of the body. 24 Therefore as the church is subject unto Christ, so let the wives be to their own husbands in every thing. 25 aHusbands, blove your cwives, even as Christ also loved the church, and gave himself for it; 26 That he might asanctify and bcleanse it with the washing of water by the word,The truth is that neither the D&C nor the Bible is Oppressive toward women. What is oppressive toward women is the perverted men who take 13 year old girls as spiritual wives by cumpulsory means and against the will of God. The prophet Jacob in the Book of Mormon wrote (Jacob 2:23-32) "23 But the word of God burdens me because of your grosser crimes. Menschtx, you lost me. I was hoping for some intelligent commentary on real differences. What I found was just another sour view based on the misuse of scripture and a great deal of ignorance. How anyone can credit your work, which is based on misrepresentatoin, sarcasm, and ridicule, is beyond me. To the rest of you, keep looking! There are many intelligent and enlightening sites and articles out there that represent these religions in a fair and thought provoking way.
Can a men ride in the government car with a woman that he is not married to from one job site to another to conduct a job related task.
After being away for awhile I stopped by to see that some-who have the true Spirit of God can see thru the deception of satan that somehow Adam god with his celestial (<that's where all mormons want to be, with celestial wives-hey, that sounds like paradise for the muslims, with all those virgins) wives procreate and make little baby spirits and then deposit them on the planet Kolob. Remember that place spoken by Joseph one night when a young girl ask the prophet where we all began, he pointed the little star just south of the north star - there the planet kolob. Although the astronomers at byu have tried to point out the planet, some believe in the last days the planet earth will return to orbit the planet kolob, yikes what will the jehovah witnesses think ! their paradise being ripped out of orbit to go to another location is the skies.
Poor Brad, don't get me wrong - but if contradiction of the basis of your religion is causing you to harange this hub and you don't want to consider the truth of Jesus < the real Jesus and His teachings, then seek other sites which will provide you with the warm and fuzzy religion you seek.
It saddens me to think so many people are really sincere in their hearts about serving God - but have been horribly diverted into believing in a FALSE GOD, the god of Joseph Smith a charlatan seeking fame and respect - a young man who evidently never read the bible. Cause if he had then he would have remembered what was written in Galatains 1:8-9

Or anathema : one that is cursed by ecclesiastical authority - cursed by the God of Paul - a strong warning to avoid at all costs. But we see Joseph Smith entertainning this angel of light <isn't this the same angel of light Jesus spoke of when he said he saw him falling from heaven (not kolob).
Be aware there are deceiving spirits in the world that will beguile you, like he did with Eve in the garden of eden, (but I remember once when speaking to a young lady about this and the words of satan - you will become like God, that she focused on this phrase more than the consequences which had put Lucifer in the role he now played "crawling on his belly" from his once position of worship leader in heaven, in the prescence of the Most Holy Father < the One True God, to the base creature always having to look up - taunted by his own choice to overthrow God, and have the worship of all, now to worshipped by millions of mormons. But this will come to an end when Jesus returns to gather the wheat with the tares and seperate them all at the judgement seat. What will Joseph Smith say then?

Kolob is not a Planet, it is a Star. Therefore, your whole argument and reason shows you have no true understanding of what is and what is not Mormon Doctrine, nor the principle doctrines of the LDS Faith.
