Crack Cocaine - Addiction to crack cocaine is more dangerous than addiction to any other illicit drug due to it's highly intense, short-lived, and addictive characteristics. Crack cocaine is in fact, more addictive than powder cocaine for a number of reasons. The most simple way to understand it is that the addition of a chemical base changes the chemical complexion of the substance and the temperature at which it will burn. Crack cocaine hits the bloodstream nearly immediately after inhalation and is diffused throughout the body in under one second.
For this reason, addiction to crack cocaine is extremely dangerous. Crack, while extremely addicting, is also has a very short half life meaning that the drug wears off quickly causing the user to have to take another dose. Without question, crack cocaine is the most addictive drug you are likely to ever run into.
Heroin - Heroin is another very dangerous illegal drug. It is considered less addicting that crack cocaine but very addicting in its own right. Because heroine takes longer to wear off, users use it less frequently than those who abuse cocaine. However, heroin is associated with a very intense withdrawal syndrome.
When a regular user stops using heroin the withdrawal effects can be severe. This results in such symtpoms as nausea and vomiting and inability to eat among other things. The heroin withdrawal syndrome is most similiar to being extremely sick.
Crystal Meth - The next item on our list of most addictive drugs is crystal methamphetime. Crystal meth has become extremely popular in parts of the United States over the last fifteen years and has become a plague among many subsets of the youth. Crystal meth can wreak havoc on your body, causing weight loss, tooth decay and loss, sores on the face, and is associated with HIV and sexually transmitted diseases.
Crystal meth is an extremely dangerous drug.
Powder Cocaine - The next most addictive drug is powder cocaine, which is so different from crack cocaine in its addictive power that it demands a separate entry. Powder cocaine can cause severe withdrawal and is strongly addicting in its own right. In addition, regular cocaine use causes the destruction of the inner mucus linings and cartilage on the nose, heart problems, sexual dysfunction and possibly death.
There you have it. These four drugs are the four most addicting street drugs you are likely to encounter in a developed country.
