Makign an icon with software ...
Here we go again … on to my favorite topic of icons and avatars and stuff just because I’m setting MySpace page for the very first time! Yap, I’ll spam away with it … when I’m done! Anyway, so I was looking for a proper icon to download as I have had idea to make a background out of as many icons as I can. So, at first, I thought about making icons by myself and brows for the best available software … jus for $39.95 best one yet is Icon Maker. Has all the option needed + Graphic Converter a software for converting graphic formats. It supports BMP, DIB, JPG, JPEG, GIF, ICO, ICB, PCX, PCD, PSP, PBM, PGM, PSD, PPM, PSG, PNG, VST, VDA, EMF, WMF, TIF, TIFF, WBMP, RLE, SGI, and more.
... or on a website ...
Then I got myself thinking: this will take way too much time. Alternative!? Free web shared programs and scripts!? Though I think one can be found I found none. Pre-made website embedded scripts/programs like Iconator Animator witch basically helps you create a custom animated buddy icon in a few simple steps. Then You have to use Iconator Resizulator that lets you easily resize and crop images to use for buddy icons, avatars, or to send to friends.
... or just download them!
Again … too much work and basically, with my drawing talent, not good enough. So I turned to using already made, top voted, iconsa I can easily download. Few places crossed my mind but I have to admit this one I used for the most of my free downloaded icons. Now all I need to do is to glue them together so does anyone know of a good, shareware .gif, jpg etc. manipulating software!?

Gimp is probably the open source graphics editor of choice. Check out http://gimp.org/ and SourceForge.org
