Tourists flock there all year round to take in some Australian culture and have fun. But there is much more to Australia than the places that make the post card stand outside the tourism shop or the newsagency. Below are just a few special places that you should consider visiting whenever you make the trip to Oz.
Torquay
About 95kms south west of Melbourne, this coastal town is known as Victoria's surfin capital. Amazing beach for surfer, swimmers and sun-bathers. Great spots for fishing and picnic or bbq's by the beach. For those who like to beach holiday but also enjoy the comforts in life, with many cafes and resturants to dine at.
Trentham Falls
ABout 92kms northwest of Melbourne. The large falls delve into a wide pool surrounded by native trees and bush, easily accessible by tourist and with plenty of walking tracks and picnic areas. A rich dark greenishblack hue seers through the water to create an alluring atnosphere of peace and tranquility. While you are able to swim around the falls I should warn you that water temperatures are a bit cool.
Broken Head
Only 10mins south of Byrin Bay, you would swear that you were a million miles away. Totally undeveoped this specail place is the perfect place to relax and enjoy life by the beach. Drive up the hills to park your car and walk down the worn tracks onto a surcluded beach with white sand, crystal clear water and playful dolphins who don't mind sharing a wave with you. \

Claire Valley
For wine lovers.
Probly best known for its incredible Reisling wine, the Claire Valley is one of Australia's best wine producing regions. Go cellar door-to-door tasting the regions wines, combine this with some fantastic local quizine and a picturisque scenery. There are plenty of places to stop and take in the regions ambience, have a picnic or speak with the local wine produces.
Broome
Nestled between the vast red deserts and the azure blue seas and alongside pure white beaches lies the town of Broome. If you like to unwind this is the place for you. Located in Northwest Australia about a 2 1/2 hour flight from Perth, the area is unique. Walk along the 22km beach and swim in the clear waters of the Indian Ocean. Go for a camel ride along the beac, known for what the locals say is the best place in the world to view the sun setting.
