Pay Attention

There are a few Rookies or first timers,or casual Fantasy players that don't have a clue whats going on. Some do it just to have a team and not pay attention to their team. When some one else plays there team, its an easy win for them. There are some players that don't do anything to there lineup and later in get on and drop all of there players or trade them away for lesser scoring players. This pisses off almost every other manager in the league. So if this is you, don't bother playing. Fantasy football can be the most easy going, competitive game out there!

A kicker?

Here are some of the most Common mistakes you can make while doing Fantasy Football. If you can catch these mistakes before they happen, you will better your chances at winning and not being the laughing stock of your league.

Well for starters. your Draft!!! There is no need to waste a high draft pick on a Tight end, Defence, or even worse, a kicker. The time will come to draft what you need when you need, last couple of round of the draft is when you make your move for a defence and make your last draft pick a kicker.

Another mistake while Drafting your team is not watching out for bye-weeks. You should keep in mind that when you draft a QB,Rb or the starting roster of your favorite team, with the same bye week, you'll have to put in your backups in for your starting line-up. You may lose on valuable point if your not watching out!

Oops I forgot...

This brings me to another most common mistake. Checking your starting roster! Some leagues lock their rosters 5 minutes before the start of each players games or 5 minutes before the first starting Football game. If your not checking your team, one of your players could have a bad match-up,or be injured and not playing. There is a rule that most of us Pros follow, " Set your line on Tuesday, and use the rest of the week to fine tune your roster". You don't really have to do this but it is important to check in on your team at least once a week.

Nitty Gritty.

Now for the technical stuff. When Your checking out your match-ups, Never start you Qb against your Defence or vice versa. Sure your QB is throws or 300 passing with 3 TD's, but now he burnt up your defense for negative points. OR.... you have your star QB sacked 4 times and threw 3 ints for no points! See what I mean. This also goes for your RB's ond Wr's... This is why you do your research and have a good draft or check your team every week.

Checking your roster

How many times a week do you, or will you check on your Fantasy Football teams roster?

  • 1 time a week.
  • 2 times a week.
  • 3 times a week
  • Only after the weekly injury reports come out.

Now it's time to DOMINATE!!!

So there you have it. These are the most common mistakes made by rookies and some of the average Fantasy footballers. I've made some of these in the past and watched other do so as well. It's great to see other opposing managers do these when I'm playing against them and laugh at them. There are some other mistakes I didn't touch on like trades, But that takes more research on the players involved and match-ups. Also your gut feeling. But as always I'll be here to help out and to give you more advise. So if you have any questions, leave me a comment and I'll get back to ya. Have fun!
