Mother's Earth's Prime Directive
57
Noah was told to put every kind of animal on his ark. Every kind, crawling, climbin, swimming and flying. He was told to put them all on his ark.
In the beginning we are told that we are sent here to take care of all the creatures and the Earth's inhabitants. We are to take care of all of them.
During the thousands of years we managed to become very close friends to all these animals and even managed to domesticate some of them.
Mother Earth's Prime Directive is for us to take care of her multitude of inhabitants. There are many people that still care for them.
Some of the humans have become greedy and have killed animals and other creatures and kingdom's on Mother Earth.
Some of the kingdom's have been put in Zoos so that they don't become killed off. Still there are others who continue to kill them off.
There is a connection between animals and humans that must never be destroyed and that is the Prime Directive of Mother Nature.
Most people can feel this.
We fell good when we sit and pet an animal and they feel good too. When we save them from apparent doom, they do look back at us and thank us in their own way. When we take care of the many kingdom's here on Mother Earth they do take notice. Animals know if a human is of good or bad. Mother Nature will bring her injured animals to those who she knows will treat them well and heal them.
Plants also do this. Contrary to popular belief plants have feelings. Science has brought a listening devise that allows us to hear plants. They took a plant and cut it. That plant gave out a scream. Yes it screamed just as if it were a human. Everything on this planet earth is alive. We must help Mother Earth with her prime directive and that is to take care of her inhabitants.
There was a study a few years ago that showed when animals do not get love as in pettting and physical contact from humans...... they die. They just up and die. They have also taken that study to the human level and have seen the smae things in humans. We are connected at a level that is astoundingly clear. Everything on the planet depends on each other, from the very seeds of plants to the humans. When one suffers so do the others in the many kingdoms here on earth.

This wasn't what I was aiming towards with this subject. I wanted to show you how it feels to pick up a cat or a dog and feel the love there is there and the connection between you and the animal. I wanted to get you to realize that they do have feelings and love to give and the share. Even a wild animal can give that to you in their own way. After petting a cat or dog and you put them down they are more calm and they go off to sleep and they feel loved. Why can't human be as those animals with each other? Is it that hard to smile at a stranger? I know you know how good it feels when you get a smile. Don't you realize how good you make that person's day? The same goes for when you pet a cat or dog or send love to a wild animal through thoughts. Just doing this from every person on this planet will change the whole world---even if it was one day out of an entire month.
We have Grandparents day, Mother's Day, Fathers Day. Wouldn't it be nice if we have one day a month to just smile at each other or pet a cat or dog or any other animal you are around. Send love thoughts to a wild animal. This can be to a sparrow or a mouse or even a snake. Then just see the difference in them.
Let's get back to what our true purpose was, taking care of our Motther Earth and all of her kingdoms.

I agree with you on all of that! Love abounds here if you take your mind off of the trivial things.
My little dog died Tuesday evening. Yesterday we buried him in the back yard. His best buddy, our orange cat, sat on the steps and watched the entire procedure. When my husband, daughter and I gave each other a group hug, I felt a tail weaving around my legs. It was Joey, wanting to share in this moment.
There is a great book on the subject of animals as healers and teachers...
Thank You, I will have to get that book and read it. I just wish others who aren't so into the positive of nature would pay attention.
Beautiful Hub LG, and explains why so many injured animals seem to come my way, right down to the exhausted lost racing pigeon that simply sat on my doorstep looking through the glass until I went out and caught it and took it a pigeon fancier to care for until it could be released. Things like this happen to me all the time. A few months back it was a wild Bantam cockerel that had been fighting and it's eyes were bled shut. It walked straight into me once I stopped my car to pick it up, and then I took it to a rescue centre. Both the pigeon and the cockerel survived. :)
Oh, poor things. Well my husband doesnt' really like me feeding the cats--well the raccoons and possums that come with the deal. There is a baby possum that is not all that well. I have seen it's litter mates and they are all the size of full grown cats, This lttile one that thinks it is a cat is the size of a 5 month old kitten, has it's nose pushed up , and I got a good look at it's mouth last night while it was on the corner of my porch banister---it's front teeth point outward and I don't think it can close it's mount fuly shut. I don't know what to do with it--don't want to attempt tp pick it up, but I have run my finger along it's tail. It comes up first to eat after the sun goes down. Last night it didn't get anything to eat as everyone got the food before it made it. Instead of running towards the stairs like the other do when I come out the door it runs the other way and gets trapped. The cats won't let it off the deck.
This morning before i wrote this I just sat on my deck and held all the cats that came to me--there are now 7 out there--two males that haven't been fixed and I ran out of money to do that. The one I call yellow kitty doesnt' like to be held, but i picked him up anyway and told him to let that little yellow kitty out to play and get loved. He let me hold him for about 10 minutes until he had enough.
Great hub, and I was really happy to see you include that picture of the native American girl sitting amongst the animals to help convey the idea that it's beyond one religion.
You are very right about the healing power of critters too. There are several programs here in our town that train dogs to be taken into hospitals - children's wards and seniors homes - for the sole purpose of letting the patients and residents pet them. Studies have proven that these doggy-doctors deliver significant and measurable benefits to the people who play with them.
And you talked about saving animals. My daughter came home the other day and told me about this spider (eww, nasty spider, yuk lol), but she came home and told about how it was crawling on her desk and she was all, yuk, but didn't want to kill it, so she scooped it onto her binder and put it on the ground off to one side. She said she was compelled to watch it though, knowing it was still alive (at which point in the story, she looked up at me and says, "I think I missed a lot of class because of that thing" lol), and so it climbed up on the desk next to her. Well, when the bell rang, she didn't want some other kid to just kill it and waste all her effort and the spider's recent luck in having NOT been smashed by my daughter... so she scooped it up again and took it outside to a bush.
Seems like no big deal, but, you know, it meant enough to her that she A) did it, and B) came home and thought about it enough to decide to tell me the story of that spider, which C) meant enough to me that now you know about it too. That's a lot of impact on humanity for one little spider, don't you think? They do matter.
And, Storyteller, I'm really sorry about your dog. :(
Yes, thanks for sharing that story. I often will take bugs or spiders outside and let them go to places where they won't be toys to my cats. They have more ffood out there too. We realy need spiders and hummingbirds here in the spring when we have, what they cll here, punky bugs. They are little black bugs that bite! They are the size of gnats, but they bite! They swarm when you walk outside on the ground and russle leaves. Everything needs each other to survive/ These little bugs are food for spiders, hummingbirds, bats and much more.
The one thing that I don't know what they are good for are fleas! They have a resistance to just about anything that I use now. I don't want to use harsh chemicals so I have used the bio stuff like Lime and DE.
Yeah, you got me there on fleas. Probably some evolutionary purpose for them though.
Loved the hub and your pics were great also...and I totally agree with what you have said. We are all here for each other and the sooner we can see this the better we are...Thanks for sharing your nice thoughts...G-Ma :o) Hugs
Storyteller, I am truly sorry about your dog too. Having just lost one ourselves I know exactly how much pain you must be going through.
Lovely hub LG...indeed it takes nothing to cuddle a dog or cat or child...wish more people would do that!
Although I used to eat sparingly chicken, fish and shrimp but have given it up due to feeling guilty. We all need to have greater love for fellow living beings. Great hub. Btw just like Noah's Ark even in India there is the first incarnation of Vishnu (matsya-fish) that comes to save the world from deluge and Manu (is ordered to have each living species represented in his ship).
Thank you Countrywoman.
Hey Lady G, misty, shadesbreath, thanks so much for your empathy. I guess I was away for so many days managing my grief that I didn't even check past hubs I'd connected with, like this one. It means a lot to me that you responded. Thanks again.

I've had so many awesome experiences with this connection to animals. A few weeks ago, I was in a parking lot where there were a lot of birds flying around at a good distance from me. I was lost in thought, and through my thoughts I came to a state of extreme peace. I suddenly realized that all the birds were getting close to me. These were wild birds who would ordinarily keep a safe distance from people, but they seemed to be responding to my serenity. It was as if nature is waiting for us humans to get in step with it.
I have lots more stories like this one.
We are animals just like them. The entire Earth is one big animal. Just like our bodies have millions of different parts that all work to support our life as a human, the Earth needs all of it's parts, humans included, in order to support it's life and growth.
