Motorcycle Wish List
65My Motorcycle Wish List.
I consider myself extremely Lucky that there was a time when I could afford to have almost any motorcycle I wanted at the peak of this obsession I had a Ducati 996 a GSXR1000 and an Aprillia RSVR parked up in my garage alongside my 2 supermoto race bikes. I felt like I was the luckiest man in the world.
Now 5 years on I can look back on the bikes I have owned and those that I haven't and come up with a list of the 5 bikes I would love to have in my garage today
None of these bikes are particularly exoctic and none are particularly Iconic (well one is!)
So lets have a look at what I've chosen..
Husaberg 650 SM
Husaberg 650 SM
I spent 2 years racing one of these in various supermoto championships. It is still the only bike that scared the hell out of me when I first rode it. Incredibly light with brutal power. When I retired from racing i used to ride this on the road and where ever I went it used to get crowns around it.
Completly impracical, unreliable if not maintained and a seat like a wooden plank I would have another one of these tomorrow!
Rg 500
RG 500 Gamma
I wanted one of these for as long as I can remember. I Really regret not buying one as a restoration project a few years ago now they are increasing in value and getting very hard to find. I used to ride a RD350LC in my Hooligan days but I would have sold my grandmother for one of these.
Without a doubt an iconic 80's bike.
KTM 950 Adventure
KTM 950 Adventure
I so very nearly bought one of these 2 years ago. I had a KTM 640 Adventure that i had ridden from the Uk to Southen Spain I loved that style of bike so much i pursuaded myself that the 900 would be better. But when It came to it i couldn't sell the 640 at the time as I had so much history with it.
I had the adventure bodywork and also the std 640 bodywork so I had raced supermoto on it, done enduros, ridden 1300 miles in 18 hours and commuted on it daily. I eventually sold it when I was very short of money but promised myself I'd get the 950 at a later date and do a world tour on it.
RSVR Aprilia
RSVR Aprilia
I had this at the same time as I had my Ducati996 and my GSXR 1000
It was an amazing bike to ride, it wasn't as good as the others in various area but as a complete package it was the one i would choose to ride most of the time. I traded in a Honda VTR SP2 for the RSV..I had owned the SP2 for 3 days!
GV 650
Hyosung GV650 Cruiser
I hope no one I know sees this!!
I have spent my whole life tearing around and racing sport bikes I used to laugh at people who rode bikes like this. But I was in my friends garage last month and there was one of these in for some accident repair work so I got a chance to try it out.
I was hooked !! I can just imagine myself cruisng down to marbella on this maybe it's my age I don't know but I think this would be a lot of fun.
I suppose I should have put a harley on the list instead but I don't think i'll be able to afford one..But I know i'll be able to afford one of these.
