Where to buy them and what to look for

Seized Auctions: There are always motorhomes for sale amongst the thousands of vehicles that become government property through foreclosure laws and seized property laws. Most of these seized vehicles need to be sold at auction very quickly due to the sheer number and the storage problem that exists. for this reason the vehicles are sold at extremely low prices. Most of the vehicles have very low mileage and savings of up to 90% on list prices can be made. definitely worth checking out.

There are two web sites that offer information on the auctions. They require a small one off membership fee but for the saving you will make it is well worth the investment.

Seized Vehicle Auctions and Auction Pass where motorhomes and Rvs can be bid on starting at $100.

Used Motorhome Dealers: This is a fairly safe way of of purchasing a used motorhome but can be one of the more expensive ways of obtaining a used model. Guarantees can be obtained but due diligence should be taken and you should know what you are looking at. Make sure that you know what you are looking at and read up a bit on some of the common traps to watch out for. I highly recommend that you read the RV Buyer's Guide before trying to purchase a used motorhome even if from a reputable dealership.

Private sellers: even more care should be taken here but if you know what you are doing then a good price can often be obtained. It is even more important here that you are aware of some of the hidden problems that might exist. The RV Buyer's Guide will reveal all.

New: Buying new is a great option if you can manage it. The latest models are each season becoming more and more comfortable and safe. New models always have good finance plans available for those who can't manage the sometimes astronomical expense of buying outright.
