We got this movie last night...it was pretty good. Yet another movie I had no clue what it was about...didnt know anything about the Soviet-Afghan war...i guess because it took place back in the 80's....i was in friggin elementary school so im not sweatin it. neither should you.........anyhoo a brief history.........so This dude charlie wilson basically lead congress into supporting the largest ever cia covert op or some shit....they helped afghanistan get guns to fight off the mean russians...the budget went from like 5mil all the way to 1 bill$$...pretty crazy and then once the fighting stopped they wouldnt even give them any funding for new schools to rebuild blah blah blah.....im not even gonna get into my personal opinion...thats not what this is about so onward and upward...

this one will come under the catergory of didnt see it in the theaters....not gonna rent it...wait til a friend does and watch it on his dollar....a couple highlights: if you are a phillip seymour hoffman fan....he is hilarious inthis movie! i think thats the only reason why we rented this one...im not saying it was bad...in my opinion it could have been a little longer....withthis type of movie you wouldnt expect sucha short running time (1:30)....it just kinda felt liek it left me hanging..many questions came up and they just end the fucker!! another intersting note: Charlie wilson was a partier! the guy is constanlty drinking scotch...having the big parties...you can fill in the blanks.....it was the 80's...thats all i will say.

bottomline: like i said....you didnt see it in the theaters for a reason....so dont rent it...wait til a pal goes and gets it........UNLESS...you are a seymour-hoffman fan....then by all means.........i give this one a " hmmmmm....not bad" thats a one figer salute
