If your like me you love movies. And like me you probably own alot of them, you keep them stored in a cabinet or shelf near your TV ready to go at a moments notice.  Their your little tickets to another realm, or happy place as I like to call it. A place where for a short time you don't really care about anything. Here's a list I've made of some movies that I think should be in every guy's collection, or for that matter everyone's because these movies in my opinion are some of the best out there.

The Boondock Saints (1999)

It’s the story about two Irish twins named Conner and Murphy MacManus, (Sean Patrick Flanery, and Norman Reedus) who kill two Russian Mobsters in self defence. While resting in a prison cell, they receive a “message from God” that tells them to become vigilantes and rid their city of Boston of crime and the evil men that cause it. They do this with the aid of their friend David Della Rocco (that’s his real and character name) who has contacts in the mafia underworld. All the while there being perused by Paul Smecker (Willem Defoe) a flamboyant (well he’s gay actually) and brilliant FBI agent. The movie was written and directed by Troy Duffy. Also look its sequel Boondock Saints 2 All Saints Day.

The Road Warrior (1981)

This is the second of the 3 Mad Max movies, and the best of the three. The others are the Road Warrior (1979) and Mad Max Beyond Thunder dome (1985) Set in a post-apocalyptic Australian wasteland, Max (played by Mel Gibson) travels the roads of the Australian outback in a never ending search for fuel. After watching a band of marauders led by a man knows as Lord Humongous (Kjell Nilsson) attack a group of settlers, he discovers a band of survivors encamped at a still functioning oil refinery which the marauders have surrounded. At first Max decides to help the settlers only for his own needs (fuel and supplies) he regains his lost humanity and helps the settlers make a daring escape.

Full Metal Jacket (1987)

Set just prior and during the 1968 Tet Offensive of the Vietnam war, the story follows Pvt. Joker (played by Mathew Modine) who joins the USMC (United States Marine Core) to see combat and be the first kid on his block to score a confirmed kill. The story is set in two major locations the first Parris Island, where we witness his transformation from civilian to marine under the often drill instructor Gunnery Sergeant Hartman (R. Lee Ermey) who uses harsh tactics to “weed out” those not fit to be marines. During basic training we also witness Pvt. Pyle (Vincent D’Onofrio) a recruit that is pushed until a blanket party (method used by recruits to beat recruits to smarten them up or send them home) causes him to snap. Pyle finishes basic training but after graduation shoots his instructor then himself in front of Pvt. Joker.

The second takes place in Vietnam where we watch Pvt. Joker now a Sergeant is a combat correspondent for Stars and Stripes magazine. He is sent to the city of Hue to cover the battle taking place there and gets his first kill in the form of a female Vietnamese soldier.

The Terminator (1984)

One of Arnold Schwarzenegger’s best known movies. In the post-apocalyptic world of 2029 machines have almost wiped out the human race in a nuclear war. The survivors have formed a resistance to the A.I network that controls the machines called Skynet. In a attempt to finish the humans once and for all the machines send back a cyborg known as a ‘Terminator” to kill the mother who gives birth to the future leader of the resistance John Conner. But the humans have also sent back a soldier to protect and destroy the terminator. What follows is non stop carnage and mayhem as the terminator relentlessly pursues Sarah Conner (Linda Hamilton) and her protector Kyle Reese. (Michael Biehn)

American History X (1998)

Set in California it follows two brothers Derek Vinyard (Edward Norton) a neo-Nazi and his younger brother Danny (Edward Furlong) who follows his brothers footsteps after he witnesses his brother kill two black gang members in front of their house who were trying to steal a car. Once in prison Derek begins to open his eyes about racism and his own anger and hate. After leaving prison he learns that his younger brother has become a skinhead in the same neo-Nazi gang, and tries desperately to get him out before its too late.
