Are you looking at transfering your DVD movies to your PSP?

You will need to have a DVD Ripper program and a PSP Video Converter program, which converts the movie files to the MP4 format, installed on your computer. If you don't have these, not to worry - the PSP X Studio software (found at the PSP Download Center site) will do the job as it has the PSP Video Converter and DVD Ripper combined. Ensure also that you have a USB cable and a Pro Duo memory stick (at least I GB) to store the movie files.

1/ Put your DVD in the computer's DVD drive and start your DVD ripper. Choose the movie you want on your PSP and then press the "rip" or "extract" button. Select a drive or folder where you want to save the movie file to.

2/ Go to the file that you saved in your computer and press the "extract and/or encode" button from your PSP video converter and save that file.

If you have the combined DVD Ripper/PSP Video Converter program, the above steps can be done in one go.

3/ Now get a USB cable and connect your PC to the PSP with this cable. On the memory stick, create a folder called "MP_ROOT" and then a sub-folder called "100MNV01." under it. Copy just the MP4 files to this location.

4/ Using your PSP, go to Video and Memory Stick and then watch the movie.

PSP Video Guide

Are you sick of paying top dollar for games and DVDs for your Sony PSP? Well, this could be the most important thing you see today! Why? Because right now you are moments away from an exciting world of free applications and homebrew games.

The fact is your PSP is a lot better than you think! It can easily be made to do all kinds of amazing things that simply have to be seen to be believed! The reason your PSP can't do these things already is that Sony have actually limited its potential on purpose!

The truth is that your Sony PSP can play thousands of free games you can get from the secret sources I can show you! Plus, if you've got any games from earlier Playstations in your collection - it can even play them too!

Same with DVDs. Do you really think the UMD format is there for any other reason than to stop you playing your existing DVD collection on your PSP? Think about it: For every movie you already own on DVD, Sony wants you to buy ANOTHER in their format. But why should you have to pay for another DVD if you already have it in your collection? Well, frankly, you don't have to!!
