Movies of 2008

I love watching movies but this year there were only a few I absolutely loved. In fact I can count on one hand the movies that moved me enough to watch over and over again. Here is a list of movies I enjoyed and you can use the list to pick out movies at the video store. Have fun!

  • I Start with 27 dresses and Over her Dead Body. They're cute but not too funny. You will enjoy them if you're into romantic comedies like me.
  • Cloverfield. It's what you expect from a monster movie... I like.
  • Be Kind Rewind. It has originality and some great shots. The funny was simmered down but I liked the look of it.
  • City of Men.I loved loved loved. Other people ok'd it but I loved the story and the look. They have some amazing shots.
  • Funny Games. Suspenseful movie but didn't do it for me cause it seemed incomplete.
  • Run, Fat Boy, Run and Forgetting Sarah Marshall. They're funny... not peeing in my pants funny, but funny.
  • Deception. It's interesting but just needed a bit more spice.
  • Iron Man. Love... I had my doubts about Robert Downy but he was fantastic.
  • Sex & the City. I'm a fan so of course I loved it, but even my husband who hates the show actually said he enjoyed it.
  • You Don't Mess with the Zohan. Overly exagerated comedy... but I found it funny.
  • The Happening. I liked the story but it's not popular with regular folk
  • Get Smart. Cutely funny.
  • Hancock. Loved... it was smartly funny with some good action.
  • Batman-Dark Knight. Loved... good action film.
  • My Favorite-Pineapple Express. I found it hilarious, to the point where tears where coming out of my eyes... but my husband didn't find as funny- Weird!
  • The House Bunny. It's a funny girly movie.
  • Blindness. Loved... the whole movie was put beautifully.
  • Quantum of Solace. Not typicall James Bond but good action film.

Here are some artsy films you might also enjoy.

  • 4 months, 3 weeks, and 2 days. Foreign film. It is slow but the story is moving and it kept me watching.
  • The Counterfeiter. Foreign film. This is a simple story about the holocaust but it was put together very nicely.
  • Vicky, Christina, Barcelona. I absoloutly loved. In fact I'm waiting for the DVD. It's a wonderfull, smart, romantic comedy. I love it because it was presented in such a smart way.
