Inspiring the best in you...

With so many movies to see, I've listed a few that have had an impact in my life in one profound way or another. Here are a few of them:

"The Way of the "Peaceful Warrior" based on a book by Dan Millman A movie that will change lives...you just have to believe...
(based on true events)

"Away From Her" If you liked "The Notebook," this one is an intelligent, powerful "must see!"

"The Diving Bell & the Butterfly" A memoir and tribute to the power of the human mind. (foreign film)

"Waking Life" Philosophical animation.

"Once" (musical). "Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind" (comedy)

"The Secret" A pseudo-documentary.

"Moment in Time" A psychological Journey.

"What Dreams May Come" A dramatic metaphysical fantasy.

"The Elephant Man" A true story of what it is to be human.

"The Color Purple" was well done and addresses racial issues.

"Philadelphia" the story of discrimination of a gay attorney with AIDS.

"Boys Don't Cry" about the struggle with gender identity and social acceptance.

"The Lover" An erotic movie, with sexual content, and although it was heartbreakingly sad, it was also one that left me never the same.

"The Joy Luck Club" A beautiful Mother-daughter film that offer's wisdom and insight.

I also think "Amelie" and "Life Is Beautiful," are noteworthy and worth mentioning.

"Seabiscut" is a story about a horse that inspired many through the Great Depression.

"The Fountainhead" and one to look forward to: Atlas Shrugged, from the highly acclaimed book by Ayn Rand.

Enjoy...

Great hub "Sport." It's nice to have intelligent choices! I have seen some of these and have tried to rent other's, but they weren't available. Also, it's great to have recommendations I haven't seen. I like the different categories too. Great buys here, especially for the hard to find ones! I ordered one of them and it took forever for it to come and the price was over $25! Movies that are "life changing," are becoming a rare commodity! Get them while you can! You've listed some great movies that inspire you to dare to dream, not to settle and to hold on to things that really matter in life and let go of the rest and continue on a journey of well being! It's refreshing!

When a movie has a profound impact on your life and you remember it for a long time after you've watched it and it makes you think, then something of value has been added to your life.

Thanks. Let me know if you were able to see any of them and what you thought of them. A few of these movies are hard to find, but a great addition to the intellectual part of any movie library. I like movies that make you think and are life changing.
