47ICC Trophy - One Competition Too Many?
The dust settles on another international tournament, the question is are there just too many of them, England and Australia arrived in South Africa on the back of a 3 months, test match, 20/20 and ODI contest, literally straight off the plane and into the Champions Trophy.... now the teams leave South Africa, and a great number of the players fly to India for their involvement in the new 20/20 Champions League, are the players at risk of burnout with this much competition? Andrew Flintoff has already stated his desire to pick and chose his games, will he be the first of a number of international cricketers to take this route, as much as the desire to play for your country is strong amongst professional sportsmen, the desire to secure a sound financial backing for yourself and your family is also paramount, surely this will start to come into the thinking of many players?
